            Gerhard!”

The boy jerked his head around to look at the girl on the other side of the marketplace.

“Just a minute,” he yelled back and turned once more to the farmer across from him. He handed Alcander’s bridle to the man and spoke again. “Are you sure you know the way?” The big man nodded and fastened the leather reins to the back of his vegetable cart.

Part Five: The Curse

Sedera vanished through the trees without waiting for an answer.  Bridget turned and walked the opposite direction.  And tripped over a root.  Sprawled on her face and very much annoyed, she heard laughter, evil, ugly laughter.
"You- *snort* -must be- *gurgle* -Bridget.  How nice- *snort* -to meet you. *giggle-snort*"

My Thoughts Circulate and Come to Nothing

Writing in Fragments

You have no idea.

I care so much that nothing makes sense anymore.

My thoughts circulate and come to nothing.

I want to be a child, but I want to be mature.

I’m not sure what I want anymore.

But I want something desperately.

I want everything to be clear.

But everything culminates in confusion.

My mind is whirring, but it’s all sound.

I want to study, but I need to sleep.

I try so hard to relax that my tension increases.

Feeling bipolar.

So many things I need to know.

Away with the Night

Something held her at the topmost stair,
another hand beside her own
and the ghostly wind through the night pulsed soft,
Was it music or did it moan?
She was drawn out toward the night
like a moth drawn to the light
To fly into the candle,
to fly into the flame,
is to be more than courage,
is to rise above shame
And the ellum awoke and shook themselves
and they wept for something that only they felt
And she nearly stepped out into the star-swirling dark

Sound and Silence

"If you can sit in silence with a person for half an hour and yet be entirely comfortable, you and that person can be friends. If you cannot, friends you'll never be and you need not waste time in trying." The Blue Castle

The above is a quote from one of my favorite books. It's a beautiful story...and I believe that quote to say something quite interesting.

Things I've learned This Summer (copying Anna's idea :-)

1. It's hard to type with one hand and eat cereal (just now)

2. Poor innocent children really shouldn't have to go to school

3. I just spilled milk on my shirt

4. That I have an obsession with yummy....delicious....mushrooms! Yummy!

5. That it's a bad idea to tie your horse with too long of a rope....

6. ....And when your horse goes lame after getting tangled in that rope, you feel supremely guilty

7. And when your horse gets better, things are much happier!

8. It's much easier to type without that cereal..
