Standing Again

Submitted by Bridget on Tue, 09/15/2009 - 23:45

Hanging by my fingertips
Slipping further every day.
Nothing I can do.
I wish there was a way,
Away from here.
Get me away from here.

Talking to myself.
I guess I'm going mad.
I thought it would be awful,
But it's really not so bad.
I'm here.
I have to be here.

Waking with a scream
Of piercing agony.
Insanity was better;
At least then I was free.
So much fear.
I hate it here.

I'm barely alive
But I'll be okay.
Time heals everything

Indifference Would Be Ideal

Submitted by Amy on Mon, 09/14/2009 - 03:20

     Indifference would be ideal. I care so much. I’m afraid of what I’m going to learn, and yet, I have to know. Somehow, I have to know. Who on earth said that ignorance was bliss? Ignorance is a horrible, greedy, speculative reverie. And knowledge is power? Knowledge brings nothing but bleakness, a sickening depression when your hopes are crushed. Ignorance is anxiety and knowledge is disappointment.
     But I’d like to know.

A Flame Gone Out

Submitted by Lorraine on Sun, 09/13/2009 - 21:45

~~~In darkness shrouded
Death doth steal upon us
With it comes a winter of sadness
Spring has gone, cold has come
We leave a trail, weeping
The sun of life has set, the moon of death has risen
Pale fingers, dark fingers
Grasp and pull away the spark
Ashes in the aftermath of flame
Black soot left as we wept~~~
Tomorrow Is A Question
Submitted by airlia on Sat, 09/12/2009 - 23:58
Today is always waiting,
Yesterday has always been,
Tomorrow is a question,
What might it bring?
What will the morning bring?
What will the evening tell?
What will afternoon say?
What will all these tell?
Will it be important?
Will it change a life?
Will it bring joyful songs?
Or nothing, save woe and strife?
What may be done
With the time we have?
What will all this come to?
So we will always wonder.
Waiting
Submitted by airlia on Sat, 09/12/2009 - 23:39
Life is always waiting,
Waiting, waiting,
Waiting for someone to claim it,
Waiting, waiting,
Would you be so selfish,
Waiting, waiting,
As to take away life from it?
Waiting, waiting,
To steal a life,
Waiting, waiting,
From one who’s never lived?
Waiting, waiting,
This can’t be right,
Waiting, waiting,
Yet people say it is.
They took that life,
The one in waiting,
Now life must search for
