Dear Homeschooling Friends,

I've been home from Rome for a week now, but I'm still trying to get my bearings from the whirlwind trip. Looking back on the trip is like looking at a delicious blend of colors, tastes, sounds, joys, exhaustion, camaraderie, and--most of all--feelings of awe and wonder. It was, simply put, a great trip.

We lived just outside the city in a nun-run hostel called Oasi de San Guiseppe; we ate at places called Delfino's and Sancto Spirito; we walked the streets of Rome constantly; we stopped for cappuccinos or gelattis at least twice a day....

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

All roads lead to Rome.... Well, maybe not all roads, but my road leads there really soon. I'm going to Rome this Friday! I can't believe it quite, but it's true.

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

Spring break is over tomorrow, and I didn't do half the things I had hoped to do. Oh well, life never seems to completely run the way we want it to run! I worked a lot, though.

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

You know that retreat I went on last weekend? It was really great, but now it feels like it happened millions of years ago! It’s amazing how quickly we forget all our ambitions, resolutions, and long-term plans. You know what I mean. Do you even remember your New Year’s resolutions this year? But, even though I have a cold now (sniff, sniff), and I’ve taken two big tests since I got home on Sunday, I will *attempt* to remember those blissful days during the retreat.

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

It feels like a lot has happened these past few days. I'm not sure why. Do you ever get that feeling? I could write about a lot of things on my mind, but I don't have the patience or the time, and neither would you to read all my current thoughts. :-)

Dear Homeschooling Friends,

I'm sitting here in my room at the computer, trying to think of ways to make apricot more interesting. It's really great having a computer to myself, and in my own room! The only trouble is that I, being very fond of the computer, tend to come straight up to my room and to the computer whenever I get home from church, school, or whatever. That means I mess things up--not helping out around the house enough or doing enough studying for school. Computers just seem to draw me in like a magnet.
