One Thousand

Note: This poem was inspired by HomeschoolGirl's poem Green Eyes. Her poem encouraged me to try something new and different in my poetry and write something that isn't as black and white as some of my other poems. Thanks HomeschoolGirl for the inspiration! Go check out Green Eyes when you can because it is awesome!

One thousand eyes see me,

One thousand lips speak my name,

One thousand ears hear me,

where is the door

can you find it there for me

show me the way little robin, flying free

I can see there's a garden there for me

Take me there, let me come in I cannot find the door

Take me there, please let me be free

I cannot find the door

The bodyguard. That bodyguard. He was telling her to scream -he wasn't doing anything to guard her -

Rynere looked around, saw one of the cats crouching to leap, and screamed. The animal lunged at her.

She darted to the side, only attracting the attention of the other cats. The one who had attacked her had neatly dodged the tree and was coming at her again. None of them seemed to notice Tace, who was hanging upside-down from the branch and whistling some random tune.

The Overlords: I

‘’ He’s dead, Liadan! Dead. Our father was too old. They slowly wore him down, and there was nothing I could do! Nothing! Not even give our honored father a proper burial! Do you hear me, Liadan?’’ Liadan, Gethin’s younger sister, did not answer Gethin, instead she went to fetch some cloth, some water and a remedy of her mother’s. As she went her long auburn hair flowed behind her.

Happily Ever After......??

Submitted by AmandaLC on Mon, 03/21/2011 - 22:59

All I wanted was a fairytale

A prince

A happily ever after

I wanted a time and place where it all made sense

Where all women are beautiful

A time when men cared about women

A place where there were true friends

I wanted a peace unimaginable

A way to go off with my friends

A chance to be alone

I wanted every terror to end

Every hero to win

I wanted to be held and loved

I wanted to be happy

I wanted to belong

I wanted to be special

A fairytale

A prince

A real love

Why?

Submitted by Kassady on Mon, 03/21/2011 - 17:36

Why?

This is such a common question in our everday topsy world!

Why is the sun bright?

Why is the grass green?

Why is the sky blue?

Why do we have dreams?

Why do we have hair?

Why do we have toes?

Why are there trees?

Why are there flowers?

Why are there animals?

Why will we die?

Why will we live?

Why will we love?

WHY!!!

Do you have answer's? Do you have exact fact? Do you know?

Leviticus: IV. Holiness

Submitted by Kyleigh on Sun, 03/20/2011 - 10:04

I apoligize for not posting more of this sooner. It's been done almost a month now, though I just finished editing it today. It's been a bit of a crazy month. There's one more section after this, and then hopefully a summary poem... which I've yet to write any of yet, so we'll see if it ever shows up.

st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } 4. Holiness Leviticus 18-22. “Grandfather,” I said. He turned to see me. “Why does God care about even the little things in life?”

“What do you mean, Josiah?” I asked.

False Romance, Chpt. 1

I hope you enjoy this. It started with a simple idea. We are building a new garage onto our house, and the entrance to the second floor is through my room. On the first warm day of the year, I was in there and I had the windows open. the room in the first part of the story is like the incomplete upstairs of our garage. To enlarge a little, it is just plywood and boards. If you have ever seen the inside of a house or shed under construction, you'll know what this is like. i described it pretty well in the story, but that's enough of an intro. Please enjoy this.

Narcissa's Julian: Chapter Two (Queen among the Narcissi)

Submitted by Anna on Fri, 03/18/2011 - 18:27

Chapter Two: Queen among the Narcissi

Blood stained Julian’s clothes, and he could do nothing about it. Caked mud had helped until it dried and fell away in chunks.
Goodness knew Julian had spent enough time in mud, trying to bury the old one with all the mourning rites he remembered. He had memorized quite a few in the time he had had to think about death—too much time out of his life.
I never asked his name.
