Corporeal Promises, by Sue F.

Let us close our eyes and knit our eyelashes upon each other
Making out faint, white light
Between the dreams underneath this cover

Let us imagine a different season
Where the snow is warm
And the night brings reason
Instead of storm

Let us dream of different faces
Scintillating with kindness and mirth
As if they were born under heaven's graces
And shake with the boldness of eternal worth

Freedom

What is the real reason we are here? I wish I knew. Sometimes it feels like we have no hope. No, I think the human dilemma is a strange one indeed, where there is not hope, there is darkness. And darkness is not, generally speaking, a good thing. Sickness and death abound in a world without hope. Essential to hope is love. Without love, there is no hope, and without hope, there is no life. People where designed to be unique and we are here to love, and to hope! When darkness abounds, light is always just around the corner.

First Snow of the Year

Submitted by Ben on Sat, 11/30/2002 - 08:00

Do you see the snow,
how it spreads, gently treads
o’er lake and field?

Do you see the blue expanse
whose tracks tell some creature’s exodus
to moon sleep in a tent of pine?

Can you define the snowflakes
that bleach the shedding primal skin
and wed mud, air, and leafy wind?

From the window of this green room
I watch the world light fall, diffused in snow,
recalled to life by this night’s touch.

I say for every hair on your brown head
the snow knows hope for warmth of bed
and falls for you, a child.

Watch Dog, by Rebecca F.

Clear, strong, vibrant and true
sounds the watch dog and his hue.

Through wind, rain, snow and fog
echoes the voice of the
watch dog.

At the crack of dawn or late at night
Nothing will keep him from his plight:

To warn mankind both far and near
If an intruder should appear.

Random thoughts from the Mind of Me, by Sarah B.

Hello. Here are some random thoughts from my overly-busy mind. Enjoy!

Thought # 1:

I've been homeschooled my whole life. Every time I think of it, I thank God that I had such loving parents that they actually took the time to spend their day teaching me, when they could have easily dumped me into the hands of Public School, and they could have been done with me. My education would not be their problem anymore. I make sure to hug my mom extra hard every day and thank her for schooling me, the stubborn, impatient child of hers.

Thought # 2:

The Prince and the Prophet, by Autumn S.

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 11/10/2002 - 08:00

The Prince of the Earth had a caller one night,
While the wind, it did rage, and the storm showed its might,
A prophet most holy, his robe stained and torn,
Had come to the fire to dry and get warm.

The Prince was amused by this "least of the most,"
And seized this fine chance for to stand up and boast.
He said "Holy Prophet, who has gone far and wide,
"Is their any place grander than where I abide?

I Miss You...

She was a sweet person.
She was simple in style.
Christ-like in character.
A smile was always present.
She was a person.
Jesus was her passion
You could see it on her face.
She was peaceful and calm,
She had a way about her.
Things are different now.
The cry of my heart is at my door.
And I’m not home anymore.
I know you are in a better place
You’ve met His loving embrace.
Someday we will meet again.
I’m crying inside.
Dieing inside.
The sky is dark
The weather cold.

Milan is a beautiful cat, by Richie B.

Milan is a beautiful cat. She is definitely not what you call a rat.
She really is a beauty but she does not have a cootie. If
you want to pet her you won't much because she'll go away in
a rush. When a guest comes she plays hide and go seek. Don't
worry she doesn't smell or reek. She has beautiful big round eyes,
when you pet her you see her tail rise.
