Snowflakes

Submitted by E on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 23:02

"Molly, it's snowing!" a petite red headed girl shouted down the hall.
There was a small (and painfully loud) joyus shreik from the other room and another redheaded girl of perhaps five burst out. She rushed past her sister with her firey curls flying out behind her.

Christmas

Submitted by I am Nate-Dude on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 22:36

Wahoo!Christmas is here,people will celebrate,from far,and near!
Most kids will cry and beg for that new $500toy,
mom says "Oh-no"!dad says "Hoo boy"!
But not me! I won't be bad!
I'll never stress Poor Mom, or poor Dad!
wile other kids fret n'wine, I'll do good,
I'll be kind!
I'll pray for the poor and needy,
and I'll ask God to help me not to be so greedy.
I'll give to the Salvation Army,
Operation Christmas Child, this year I'll go wild!

Baby Jesus

Submitted by Elizabeth on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 22:31

Twinkling
Sparkling
Jingling
Ringing
Singing
Christmas joy

Christ is here
Born to cast out all fear
The reason for our joy
Jesus, the little baby boy

Songs are sung
The bells are rung
Smiles are bright
The stars, alight

Dancing
Weaving
Bouncing
Smiling
Laughing
Christmas happiness

The joy that the Infant Jesus
Has given us this Christmas
Fills our hearts with praise
For the small, holy, baby

Waiting

Submitted by Hannah W. on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 20:57

The clock on the wall
it's mocking me, I think
and the seconds are marked
by the drips of the sink

The ticking, dripping,
scratching, scrape
I sit at the window,
I watch and I wait

The phone's almost sleeping
it sits there, won't ring
though I sigh in frustration
it's rather annoying

I can't sit and read
can't stay still long enough
and yet at the same time
I don't want to get up

The Donut

Submitted by Tori on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 14:16

I walked, ran, skipped and hopped,
On my way to the Donut Shop.

The lady there gave me a smile,
And I decided to stay for a while.

Chocolate and sprinkled donuts galore,
But my favorite is at the back of the store.

Boston Kreme is the kind for me,
I love, love, love, love them, you see.

A simple donut without a hole,
With chocolate on top, it captures my soul.

The Kreme on the inside, waiting for somebody,
To bite it and break out in a beautiful melody.

Unless Postponed For Rain

Submitted by Anna on Mon, 12/08/2008 - 22:02

In pale knobbled trees the blackbirds sit
And refuse to sing but a rasping call
Pessimistically they watch the clouds and say,
"How dull! How dull!
If the monotony doesn’t kill us first,
The world will likely end tomorrow-
Unless postponed for rain."

The wolves don’t bother to raid the sheep,
the bears hibernate early.
The deer gave up guarding their young,
And the plain little flowers forgot to bloom.
Why not fall into discord and sleep?
The world will likely end tomorrow-
Unless postponed for rain.

Jaiden: Part 2

Submitted by E on Sun, 12/07/2008 - 16:56

It wasn't late. I supposed Father would probably invite HIM (I thought the name with so much disgust I nearly puked. Ugh.) to dinner this evening. I groaned loudly. "I'm not intelligent enough to become queen anyway," I said aloud to myself.
"Princess Jaiden, King Zion needs you," my butler, Amir notified me.
