My Name

Submitted by Hannah W. on Mon, 06/01/2009 - 02:15

Stand up there and speak to us
about hope and about pain
There are so many words you're saying,
but all I wanted was my name

Which word, in which language,
which of them is mine?
Will I find it in the valley,
or on the mountains that I climb?

Who will speak it to me,
who will say, "You are this"
Some people say you find yourself
others say you have to wish

I wonder if the great blue heron
holds it in his bill
I wonder if it's with my fathers
buried in a hill

The Portal-Dreamer Chronicles: Kirthanin ~Chapter Three:Sulaire

The next two days seemed to drag on for the inexperianced riders, but finally Valzaan announced that Sulaire was just over the next hill.
Trav inhaled deeply. "Mmmm… I havn't smelled the ocean since I was seven."
Galadriel looked about in wonder at the shore of Sulaire. “I thought Florida was nice, but this…it’s amazing.” The unnamed trees and flowers swayed gently, filling the air with a fragrence finer than perfume.
Frodo could hardly breath "It is beautiful." she whispered.

Chapter Two: Journeys
As the group dispensed, Galadriel hung back. "Ciao, can I talk to you? I really have no idea how I got here. I was glancing through Beyond the Summerland on the way to church, and suddenly I was...here. Do you know how to get home? And how much can we intefer without consquences? What will happen at he Forbidden Isle? I have no desire to be captured by Malekim. What's going to happen to us?"
"You won't need to be rescued. I'll kill all the Malekim."Ezra stated.

Three Dark Roses

Don’t move. My eyes squeeze shut like a hiding child.  The air throbs with my enemy’s approach. Go away, goaway-goaway. Terror pulls the air from my lungs in an unwilling scream. Save me. Save me.

Dissonance presses against my heart; everything fades…

Flickering candlelight caresses my eyelids. “Abigail, can you hear me? Child?” Despite pain stabbing my body, relief floods my mind.  Scarlet streaks blur my vision as I open my eyes.

Sea Eyes, Chapter 5, by Grant

Submitted by Bridget on Fri, 05/29/2009 - 02:54
I am highborn, actually, (does it surprise you? I can see that it does.) by way of my father’s seventh cousin’s wife’s mother. She was the wife of Hilu Ka. (If you’ve forgotten already, he was our king.) She becomes important later on, but it doesn’t do to bring certain people into the story too quickly, so you shall hear about her later.

I should prolly come up with a name for this ghost story, chapter 3

Chapter three
Once again, they landed hard on the ground.
Jennie fell to her knees again, half crying, half coughing and gasping. Just as before, Freddie pulled her to her feet. Immediately, she hugged him, still sobbing.
They stood like that for a few moments, in her front yard, in the middle of the night.
Finally, she pulled away from him. She looked at him for a minute, and she noticed his beautiful eyes were shining with tears.
She tried to talk, but it came out in stutters. "I...I can't believe...I'm sorry..."
"I know," he whispered. "I know."

Oh Restless Soul

Submitted by Raen on Wed, 05/27/2009 - 17:57
The immortal desire of my heart:
To love and to be loved.
For that yearning is Christ's everlasting mark,
Which he hath given to mortal man.

Oh soul which cannot rest until
Every grace is well used,
Which cannot respite 'till it is filled,
With God's sanctifying grace.

In worldly things I see no pleasure,
For all turns to rot and dust,
But seek in God my only treasure,
And thus find my truest desires.
