Give Love a Chance

Where there is hatred, let me sow love – St. Francis of Assisi.

Perfect love casteth out fear – St. Paul.

Fear and hate rule the world today. The evidence us everywhere: mistrust, violence, bloodshed and murder.

I have come so that you can have life, and have it more abundantly – Jesus

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten son – John

God’s intention was that we would listen to His son and what He had to tell us.

Above all, love one another, even as I have loved you – Jesus.

A Prayer to the King of Glory

Submitted by Ezra on Thu, 06/04/2009 - 06:14

Let me dwell within Your breath, my King of endless Glory,
And hide me in the shadow of Your love;
Though my sins, like a forest, stand ever thick around me,
Remind me that Your promise is enough.

It’s been years since You first called me, to this desperate journey,
And I tremble for the little way I’ve come;
But though my love is faithless, still Your face has not turned from me,
And Your arms are open, even though I run.

Child of Darkness: Chapter the Sixth

As they begin to swirl in a slow dance, they fade, the room fades, and everyone fades until I am standing in a white, empty area. I see nothing as far as my eye reaches. I look about me, slightly disorientated from the extreme difference of this place and where I just was. “Well?” the voice who called itself my memory has returned. I am so confused. A memory should not be able to speak to me. It should be part of my mind. A book that I read-”I asked you what you thought” But no book can talk and sound that annoyed.

Ten Years

This week I'll turn sixteen. Apparently that's a big milestone. In most states, you can start driving when you're sixteen; you can get a job; you start looking at colleges and planning for the future. For some reason, it's more of a big deal for girls than it is for boys. I guess it's like a modern-day coming-out....our new version of "You're a lady now".

Dusk

The rippling grass
Beseeches the sun
As again it turns
Towards the horizon

The awaking moon
Is ever sailing
Shadowy it looks
To the setting sun

Whiter than snow
Pale and yellow
Gold is its rays
And orange clouds surround

The vibrant sight
Then melts out
Into the dark sky
Of a fresh new night

The earth is darkened
Below the trees
Shadows lay down
In the green wood

The Érenyel: Part 2 (The Vale)

Submitted by James on Mon, 06/01/2009 - 06:11

Cool evenings and warm mornings followed upon each other. Rayôn and Qeyrah settled in the vale where Áronyeh had created and awoken them, and ruled over the land as their Creator had instructed them. The man and his wife watched the sun and the moon rise on one side of the land, and set on the other side. They named the place where it rose “East,” and the place where it set “West.” They named the North and the South as well.

The Island

I had been alone on the island for four months. How did I know this? I’d marked the days on a palm tree near the shore where I first washed up. I remember that day. I was all alone for the first time in my life. Pirates had shot at our ship. And they had good aim, for they sank us quickly. I wonder why they sank us, instead of just boarding the ship and killing us all, or taking us prisoner and getting money. Maybe it was just Providence, so that I would survive.
