I’ve always been the friend of the heroines, the younger sister type. The very pretty, but overlooked advisor who is very emotionally secure. I watch my friends fall in love, and they assume that I, the contented, stable, one, wouldn’t be so careless as to fall in love myself. And so I assumed. Love was something for other people. One of those things that happened all the time...to someone else. It was something that would happen to me “someday” when my perfect man came, and then, we’d both be desperately happy and in love. Actually, I unconsciously considered love to be fictional.

The Prince Caspian Movie

I was really excited when I heard that the Prince Caspian movie was coming out; that was about one year ago. I had been keeping up with it fairly regularly for several months on The Lion's Call website, and I thought it looked pretty neat, except for Caspian's hair, which appeared too long and sissified. My dad took me and my sister to see it at the theater the day after it came out, and at first I liked it a whole lot, even though there were some things that were very silly, especially where Caspian and Susan kiss.

Her name was Brighid O'Grady
she was the blacksmith's daughter
she had hair like sunshine and eyes like the sea
and her heart was lost on the second son of the carpenter
his name was Tommy MacMaster
and he was everything a man should be

Brighid O'Grady
she went to Mass every morning
she gave her heart to Jesus and took His in return
and when he didn't have to deliver something into town
she saw Tommy MacMaster
and that never failed to make her day

Brighid O'Grady

Freedom

I stepped out into the expansive back yard, the cool breeze whispering through my hair. The sun was low in the sky, throwing a reddish glow onto the nearby clouds. The air was crisp and cool, a perfect fall evening. A light mist hugged the ground, shrouding the trees.

"Will, where are you?" I called, searching the trees for a sight of him.

"I'm up here," I looked up to see Will's smiling face perched on the thick branch of a poplar tree.
