National Anthem of Liberari Ya

Submitted by Libby on Mon, 10/23/2017 - 20:46

Rise up, oh land of liberty,
Against the foe and for the friend;
Under the queen’s just ruling,
Stay true to her until the end.

Through dangers, many, we shall tread,
Though some more weary than the rest,
But we shall brave them through that time
With hearts of courage and of zest.

Rise up, oh land of liberty,
To needy ones a hand we’ll lend,
And thus we will forevermore,
Be true to her unto the end.

The Pledge of the Disciple (Direct the Way): the 2nd Song

Submitted by j. Glen pollard on Tue, 10/28/2014 - 00:53

(Verse 1)
Where should I go?
I am betwix two paths
Having the desire to pursue my LORD
It’s for the King I am fighting for

(Chorus)
Where You go I will follow
Trailing like a second shadow
As I read Your Word I will grow
I’ll stand by You all my days
Every day I will say
Direct the Way!

(Verse 2)
From my great confusion
(Jesus) You deliver out of peril
You put my feet on solid ground
Stray from You I will never

Siren

Submitted by Laura Elizabeth on Thu, 05/22/2014 - 22:43

SIREN

Rises from the ocean
Wet hair shining, black;
Skin pale, white;
Calling, beckoning,
"Come, come hither."

Stop the ears, close the eyes,
Deaden the heart
To her fatal song.
Set the sail; away, away.
Do not pass her by.

The Song

Submitted by little woman on Sat, 02/23/2013 - 22:16

She sang softly as she cradled the small boy. Her voice could not be called beautiful by any stretch of the imagination. It broke on the high notes and all but disappeared on the low ones. Yet it had that quality of love, which cannot be artificially produced. She sang to the child, feeling his warm body against hers, and felt she was beautiful.

Hidden Paths

Submitted by The Way on Wed, 11/07/2012 - 17:58

Hidden in the shadows
Of a forest
Beneath the undergrowth
Is a wild path
Whispers of the trees
Guide the way
Songs of the Birds
Just ahead, but never in sight
Shaped by your thoughts
Never still, but moving
Follow the path of your dreams

Comrade Song: Two of Three

Submitted by Anna on Thu, 12/29/2011 - 22:52

Two of Three
Anita’s hands lost their grip on anything but air. She swayed, but she seized rope rail before the cliff fell away under her feet. The darkness seemed to hit a wall a long, long way across from her. She tripped back from the edge, hyperventilating.
The sky flashed. Anita’s hands flew to shield her eyes against the symbol lit on the opposite cliff. It was like two triangles kissing or a bowtie. A long, deep note sounded and lingered, a horn of alarm.
“The rune of emergence. They’re coming.”

Heartsong

Submitted by little woman on Fri, 01/28/2011 - 00:55

Heartbeats thud

Creating thunder

Heartstrings strum

A ripple of melody

Thought-wishes explode

Muffling my brain

A blush blossoms

Overspreading my cheeks

Joy bubbles

Resulting in laughter

Confusion reigns

A harmonious disconnect

All is fair in love and war

But

This is not war, so it must be love

Yet

I do not think it fair

 To fall to pieces

When I fall in love

Tempest

Submitted by Bernadette on Fri, 07/16/2010 - 00:11

Dear child, hearken now

Thy thoughts hear wilts

Thou forget

The tempest thou bore

In thy song ever more

Now sing thyself asleep

With no wind or bird

To answer thy cry

Now search thee through the night

Till dismal bongs awaken thou slumber

I’ll sing thee a song

A song of the bread maker

And the song of the weaver

The song of the sailor

And the song of a tea maker

Dream thyself asleep

But hark! the words of a song

Man of the Road

Submitted by Mary on Wed, 06/02/2010 - 15:09

“Who are you there, walking past my gate?”

“A man of the road, my lady,

whose wings are his feet,

whose home is the highway,

whose friends are his staff and his song.”

“Where are you going, Man of the Road?”

“Over the hill, my lady,

on towards the mountains,

on towards the sea,

on with the call of the wind.”

“What are you seeking, Man of the Road?”

“The rainbow’s gold, my lady,

and the song of the lark,

and the sunset’s fire,

and the light of the moon on the sea.”
