National Anthem of Liberari Ya

Submitted by Libby on Mon, 10/23/2017 - 20:46

Rise up, oh land of liberty,
Against the foe and for the friend;
Under the queen’s just ruling,
Stay true to her until the end.

Through dangers, many, we shall tread,
Though some more weary than the rest,
But we shall brave them through that time
With hearts of courage and of zest.

Rise up, oh land of liberty,
To needy ones a hand we’ll lend,
And thus we will forevermore,
Be true to her unto the end.

I wrote this a few years ago when my friends and I started a "Counsel of Nations", where we made up our own separate countries and made stuff up about them. I actually wrote a chapter "book" about my country, Liberari Ya, and made up a language for it. This is the national anthem of Liberari Ya that I made up at the time.

How does it go in the language you made up?

I meant what are the words in your poem, when they are written in the language you made up?

For example, in Spanish the words in the first paragraph would be:

Levántate, oh tierra de libertad,
Contra el enemigo y para el amigo;
Bajo las reglas de la reina,
Mantente fiel a ella hasta el final.

The National Anthem in the language of Liberari Ya:

Len, Liberari a dinlis, esiris,
Foises staene un nefseng,
Dwi, rit riloryan ya unst
Lesshlo fi serut etreinlis.

Svirel pereilis, ghe nin clawis,
Gniritre aacpereilis pil si,
Hien clawis pilriod ghe ninevrech
Vreches un loso dio lintu.

Len, Liberari a dinlis, esiris,
Gencrafd fi ghe nindein,
Trehsis, etrein, ghe pil
Lessh fi serut si etreinlis.

I'm still working on the grammar and the language, although I haven't worked on it for a very long time. Hopefully, I'll get more done by and by.

Oh my goodness, Libby!!!!!!!! That is so cool! I love those kinds of things! And making up your own language...that is so cool! I imagine you enjoyed it quite a bit!
