A Fantasy Dream

Submitted by Bernadette on Tue, 10/06/2009 - 13:50

A fantasy dream of forests deep

With leaves of abundant green

And sparkling rays of morning sun

Where fairies are dancing bright

Girded some with swords

While others with stars and flowers

On paths of moonbeams blue

And golden roads abide

And flitting snowflakes and summer rain

All dance about with harpers and songs

And the branches are winding

Tangled and smooth

Little trees and trees which are tall

A fantasy dream of midnight sky

Note: I play a keyboard and a pennywhistle, and the latter is what is meant by "six small holes".

Music
Fingers dancing
Slowly or quickly over
Black and white keys
Or six small holes
Notes going back and forth
Telling each other stories
Blending together to make a
Melody of a tale
Sometimes you sing
Adding another dimension
Making your own music
Straight from yourself
A friend listens
Or no one at all
Perhaps your guardian angel hears
And God as well
He created music, after all

Song of the Things that I Always Will Be

Submitted by Hannah W. on Thu, 01/15/2009 - 04:08

Breathless darkness,
sparks in the air
Scattering stars
wind in my hair

Tumbling through fields,
light touch of feathers
Song of the earth
echoes forever

Heartbeat and dirt,
trees sway in the night
Shadows and flame
glowing orange, bright

Smell of the forest
cool air on my cheeks,
running, heart soaring
no words do I speak

Orion the Brave,
with his arrows and bow
he hunts in the sky
and the way he does show

A Pirate Song

Submitted by Shane on Fri, 06/15/2007 - 00:44

Before I start, I wish to add a small introductory note:

Pistachio the Pirate and his wife Georgianna are characters in a story I'm writing. While not really Pirates in the terms of thievery, they have much that resembles your traditional stereotypical fictional pirate. It's a song sung by the two of them thus their names in the parentheses.

(Pistachio the Pirate)
"A pirate's life is what I want.
It's what I want to be!
A pirate ship! A pirate captain! That's me!"
