SIREN

Rises from the ocean
Wet hair shining, black;
Skin pale, white;
Calling, beckoning,
"Come, come hither."

Stop the ears, close the eyes,
Deaden the heart
To her fatal song.
Set the sail; away, away.
Do not pass her by.

Your wording is splendid! A very enjoyable poem indeed, masterfully vivid!

Ooh, mermaids! This caught me from the start. I like the theme behind it too.

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

This was striking. Sort of minimalistic, and yet it threw an entire scene together in my mind, which is awesome. Good job!

Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!
