Final poem on love

I know, in the end, it will be me
That falls endlesslessly into the tears
Into the heartache that nothing can ease
Into the melancholy that no one seeks

But I think, perhaps, when that time comes
The world may be even darker for you
To cause love, and to take it away
To learn what love can be, and run away

Learn the meaning of love
Learn eternal beauty
Learn the dark shadow of love
Hide it in your mind
For all your eternity
So after love fades and
It’s shadow hidden,

Today I was looking through my diary, getting all sentimental and nostalgic. I found some old poems that I wrote and thought, "Why not put 'em up on AP....just for kicks". And here they are.

This one I wrote when I was six or seven; my first poem ever!

Spring, spring!
It's almost here!
Beautiful flowers are coming near
A rose here, a tulip there
Green grass everywhere!
Spring's coming!

This one, oh....I'd say I was about 9 when I did this one.

Mountains Old

Dark the shadows flee
Amid the empty valley
Grass shriveled, dead, dreary
Rocks ring hollow memories

Deep voices lost in stone
Silenced, the children’s moans
Durin’s kin dispersed alone
Lost, the hammer’s low tones

Came thither the dragon red
Flame, smoke, ruin, dread
Followed the wind, his breath
Hovered under his malicious head

Ruin he brought there
The Lonely Mountain bare
Smaug upon his bed rare
Gold, rubies, emeralds, fair

Love

Love is deeper than a fairyland happily ever after,
Love is the sacrifice of Father into Savior.

Love is deeper than the dreamy thing for which every girl pines,
Love is the pity in the Healers eyes.

Love is deeper than the ‘I love you’ words,
Love is when from sickness, by Him, we are nursed.

Love is deeper than bride and groom,
Love is the first Eucharist in that old room.

Love is deeper than something dizzy and light,
Love is the fall onto knees even when He had the might.
