Fear of Failing

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 06/04/2010 - 06:28

I feel the poison set in deep inside me. The poison of wanting that one person you can’t have. You want them so badly you’d do anything. You know they don’t want you. Why would they want you? It hurts so bad to want something, you’ll never get. In the back of your mind, rejection haunts you like a night terror. No matter how many times you wake up, as soon as you fall back asleep the dream starts right where it left off.

Planet Wars Episode I: The Phantom Doom

Author's Note: I do not, of course, own any of the Star Wars characters. Everything else, I believe, is mine and my brothers'. I also made no attempt to keep the Star Wars characters true to their characters; they all act according to my whims and sense of humor. The whole thing started with my younger brothers and me playing with our LEGO minifigs, so if you want to visualize this, think LEGO.

Fear

Mournful howls slice the night’s stillness. I huddle against my King’s robe, shivering in the spring air. My gaze darts back and forth, searching for gleaming green eyes.

“They won’t attack me,” he states. “As long as you stay with me, you’re perfectly safe.”

Hundred of phantom beetles crawl down my spine. My stomach churns like a stormy sea. Snap! A branch cracks.

I whirl towards the sound. Another twig snaps, then a third, till the night is filled with thunderous echoes.

Shadows, Shadows

Submitted by Leandra on Thu, 06/03/2010 - 20:55

Shadows, shadows, all around,

In the sky and on the ground.

Light has fled on this dark day;

Evil's minions come to play!

Darkness, darkness, in the air;

Stars are hiding, who knows where?

Sun has gone and run away

And we're left with night today!

Weapon, weapon, in my hand,

Let us fight to free this land.

Cleanse the shadows with the light;

Bring back all that's good and right:

Warrior, warrior, come with me,

Let us make this great land free.

Excited

Submitted by Madeline on Thu, 06/03/2010 - 16:02

 Jittery

Anxious

Heart beating

Flowing

Stop

Excited

Strange

Emotionless

Except for the one

that rules all

Stop

And shaking

Shaking

Shaking

Shaking

Till the heart

Is fullfilled

Stop

And then the world

shakes along

With you

And you know

You are not alone

Stop

And even when

you cannot stop

for anything, you must continue

you will not halt

Cloudy days and muddled thoughts
Blend in time as big raindrops
Fall like sacred tears on dirty sidewalks

Umbrellas up and all around
Shelter those who never found
The beauty deep within the dripping water

Who is left untouched by pain?
Or never felt the hurt and shame
Like stone, remains; unchanged, unbroken?

The clouds will clear and life goes on
But sunshine never lasts for long
And rain returns to give and take away

An Interview with an Angel

A Note to the Reader:

Everyone has a companion Angel; a celestial being with whom their life and growth are intimately, inseparably entwined.  I’ve recently had the good-fortune to talk with my own Angel, and it is my pleasure to now present the reader with a few of the deeper insights I’ve gained through exploring our connection, and share a good many direct quotations from my Angelic counterpart.

Frozen

frozen in time
since I saw your eyes
I guess that's why
I still dream that you're mine

because I'm frozen in time
the time when everything was fine
something of sublime
life was my lullaby

I have a one track mind
why oh why
stuck in my mind
you and I

this dream is just a dream
can't turn wants into reality
it will take me long to see
some things will never be

I'll just try to live in my head
cuz there we're better best friends
but oh, it's all pretend
