Professor Nickel

Submitted by Tatum on Mon, 08/17/2009 - 02:14

Shakespearean Professor Jasper Nickel was a lonely old man whose imagination most always got the best of him. He taught Shakespeare’s works at a local university and, as innocuous as that job was, he always came home feeling as though he had been living a day during Shakespeare’s time. As interesting as some of his stories the stories he tells in the classroom are, I will be telling you another story. An extraordinary story about what happened when Professor Nickel came home on what he thought was just another ordinary night.

Everlasting Love

Submitted by Lisa B on Mon, 08/17/2009 - 00:42

No more crying, no more tears.

No more pain, no more fears.

No more anger, no more grief.

No more thoughts that are brief.

Cause now it's time for a change of heart.

A new day is the way to start.

The tears are gone.

The joy has come.

And a little piece of God's work is done.

Smiles, laughter, and joy all around.

Cause it's by an Everlasting Love we're bound.

Song of Praise

Submitted by Lisa B on Mon, 08/17/2009 - 00:37

His train filled the temple.

His light shone in the room.

The angels sang praises to Him.

And no, not one, would assume

That this Man was not the Messiah.

That He was not to come.

All the eyes saw

That He was indeed the One.

So sing praise to God!

Worship His holy name!

For if we listen very closely,

We can hear the angels sing:

"Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty.

Who was, and is, and is to come." (Revelation 4:8)

The Ballad of Romeow and Julicat

Submitted by Kyleigh on Sat, 08/15/2009 - 02:12

... this is based on the cat who sits under our window and meows up at our kitty. We nicknamed them "Romeow" and "Julicat" though their names are really "Ojo" and "Sunny."

Enjoy. :)

Down below the window wide,

At morning, noon, or eventide,

Came Romeow in all his glory,

But not to chase a rainbow lory.

For seated in the window wide,

A-lying on her side,

Lolled the fair Julicat,

Soaking sunshine where she sat.

"Julicat, O Julicat,

"How I love thee, dear cat!"

Called Romeow, a-wailing

He Wants to Break Free

Submitted by Velocity on Fri, 08/14/2009 - 00:14

His eyes are filled with sorrow,

He pulls himself around,

He lives everyday fighting death,

With pain filling his head.

He walks a path of sorrow,

Wherever he goes.

His hands are scarred, with the pain,

Of wht he use to want to know.

He tells them 'I'm alive' but to him in the deadest way.

The pain inside, is breaking him,

but he needs a heart to live.

He wants to sleep,

but without the scary dreams.

and wishes he wanted to be awake,

but to a better reality.

Never Forget--Chapter Five

Submitted by Ariel on Thu, 08/13/2009 - 17:04

“You clumsy girl, how dare you touch my porcelains?” A tall woman stood in the center of a richly furnished room. Her flawless features were cold and cruel. Her bright golden hair was swept back in the latest style and her dress was fashioned to the utmost perfection. A young girl knelt on the thick rug at her feet, desperately trying to sweep the pieces of broken glass into a pile. The woman reached down and grabbed the servant by the ear to drag her to her feet. Her face silently twisted in pain, she stood breathing hard and waiting.
