I am as I am

I am as I am

And will always be a rose with thorns

That burn when touched.

I am as I am a child that when harmed

Is as withered as a rose in a jar.

I am as I am a wind that when passing

Is like a book without a title

But is given one as I pass that is

A lie as I intend it to be.

I am as I am a simple child

But you think you know me

With a passing glance.

I am as I am the one

Who thinks I know myself

No Matter How Mundane

"The houses all look the same." I said;
all the perfect lawns were brown with lack of rain.
Even the trees in the lane were identical,
each limb and leaf equally symmetrical.
He looked at me and smiled grimly.
"You'll get used to it." he said quite simply.
Duplicate rows of houses too aloof to be called homes,
duplicate faces, too distant to get to know.
Yet the summer waxed and waned
and nights did come can go, but still they looked the same.
I pleaded, "Say anything, no matter how mundane."

**After watching the regular version of "The Two Towers" in I don't know how long, I decided to write down a few thoughts that came to me while I was watching.  You don't have to agree with all that is written, but if you can relate to at least some...well, then you're probably just as nuts as I am.  If you'd like, you can add some of your own in your comment. ;D**
