Twilight

fog,

drifting,

ghost like

shadows, dark but alluring

meeting the sky.

I'm asleep in reality

not awake in a dream,

almost serene

but aching.

silent weight

encompassing my hearts throng

turning it low and melodious.

I wish someone would sing along

to the forgotten bars

of my song.

low,

deep,

sweet.

my heart beats

melting

with the orange glow;

orange fading.

my hearts song, my life strains

the pounding quietly resounds.

Common questions people ask homeschoolers and answers you could give them to FREAK them out!

Submitted by Kassady on Thu, 11/04/2010 - 14:02

HomeschoolGirl and Me had fun writing common (rude) questions  that adults and other public schooled people ask homeschoolers. Hope you enjoy!

Write on!

1. Do you like homeschooling?

No--it's torture! I'd rather go to public school where they would tease me and where the children participate in drugs!

2. How do you socialize?

Oh....I have friends! My dogs! My imaginary friends! Right now...this conversation is scaring me!

The Windmills Go On Strike

"How could we be so cruel
as to put it to work?
The wind has not a mother,
nor a father--not even a home!
All it has is the sky for a companion
and the leaves of tall trees for a voice."

"No, brothers, this we cannot do.
We must find work
from the waves in the sea,
or the coal in the earth,
but let the wind blow however it may,
free and unharnessed as it has
from before time and as it will
long after we become moss, and rot, and earth."

The Old Lady, the Frog and the Spork with a Dream, Part Two

Submitted by Hannah on Tue, 11/02/2010 - 22:29

The Old Lady set the frog down on her table

and started heating up a pot of water, to give the poor thing a bath

to thaw it out.

But when she tried to pick up the frog, to put it in the pot

It's tried to jump away.

With what the Old Lady could have sworn was a look of panic on it's face.

However, years of cooking had given her fast reflexes and she bent over and picked

the poor frog up and held it securely.

As she started to lower her extremely frightened frog into the pot,

she was startled to hear a knock at her door.

That was strange,” Solana said as she and Dominica hurried back to the underground house. “We need to tell the guys in charge about it so they can investigate.”

“Who is in charge?” Dominica inquired. “Scott and Luther are prisoners!”

Solana thought over this as a young man, one of the guards of the entrance, pushed the rock aside and opened the door. They stepped into the hole, slid down the ladder, and started through the tunnel.

“I remember now,” she spoke up. “Robin is temporarily in charge.”

And so it is.

First of all, I'm incredibly glad that aprictotpie is still in existence. It is, I believe, the most wonderful website out there. Even though I don't always feel like I have time to keep up with it, I always feel at home coming back. Thanks so much to those who keep it going!

Now then...

The Ultimate Decision, Chapter 5(revised)

After eating a brief meal, Solana and Dominica slipped out of the underground house to take a walk. They had been out for quite a while, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the beautiful day, when Solana stopped abruptly, causing Dominica, who was right behind her, to run smack dab into her.

  "What’s up?" Dominica wondered.

"I smell smoke." Solana  started to run. "It might be a forest fire. Come on!"

  He heard them.
