Shadowed Moon Chapter 26

There was silence on the cliffs as I bent over Faylin’s body and gently, carefully rolled him to one side. His eyes were open, glowing brightly as ever.
“Faylin!” I screamed. Don’t let him die, don’t let him die! Those words pounded in my head.
            His eyes blinked closed.
“No, Faylin. Please, please, no Faylin.” I whispered.
His chest rose a fraction, then fell again. A strangled cough escaped his lips.

Breathe, October (Prologue)

Fall had come, settling itself in Wisconsin. There from the sky, you were quite able to see the pattern of orange, red, and gold that so defined the season. A leaf broke from one of the many oaks, catching in the wind right before it hit the sparse grass. It was carried forward in sudden spurts, carried like so for a long time, until at last the breeze gave and it fell beside a lonesome shoe. The person turned, stepping forward and accidently crushing the leaf to bits.

Rain and such.

Hello everyone,

here is another story. I have finished the story but do not want to overwhelm you, so here are the first two chapters.

Enjoy! :D

Chapter One

What started It All

Once upon a time there lived a prince named Robert. He had never loved anything in his life. He hated his books (but he read them anyway to pass the time of day), he hated his horse, his slaves, his sword, his kingdom, even his wealth (because it did nothing but buy more hated things).

 Eerie mist blankets the road,

Golden sunlight bursting through

A forest draped in silv’ry gauze

Midst pre-dawn stillness and dew,

He is there, watching o’er us.

At sunrise sisters journey through the woods,

Blades of grass bend beneath their running tread,

They stop to gather flower and feather,

And watch the deer and her kin far ahead.

And He is there, before us.

Grey fog rises from the field of dreams,

Color streaks the sky beyond the hay

The Gifted: Part One. Introduction

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Sat, 09/03/2011 - 02:18

Once, long ago, in a time and place much different from the world we call home, there was a group of people with strange powers. They were the thing that myths and legends were made up of. Few believed that they really existed, and even fewer knew where they lived.

It was said that when an enemy rose up in any kingdom, these people would appear out of the desert, wielding magic, and defeating all who stood in their path.
