The prophecy of a father

Submitted by Kathleen on Sat, 10/22/2011 - 23:52

It was prophesied that my father would save the world. He had gotten the message from who knows where. He left when I was too young remember what he was really like.
But I saw him on the news. There he was. Snapshots. Video footage. Always connected to some mysterious event, and always saving the day. He had light brown hair, grey eyes, and a long narrow nose. My nose, the one thing I had always been a little self conscious about. Had I inherited anything else from him? I didn’t know. I had never felt particularly heroic.

Capital Punishment, cruel or just?

Capital Punishment, cruel or just? Of the 1099 executions carried out in the whole of the USA from 1977 to the end of 2007, Texas accounts for 406 or 37\%. Texas carries out far more executions than any other American state; between 1982 and 2007 it executed 404 men and 2 women. America is one of the few countries that still has a death penalty, but it still has one of the highest murder rates in the world, whereas most of Europe has outlawed capital punishment and has some of the lowest.

A noise echoes down the corridor. "Ah, that would be the phone. I'll leave you ladies to talk, get things sorted out." The Doctor practically leaps from the bench and runs out of the room.

I turn to a display of 12th –century illuminated manuscripts, but River grabs my left arm and twists it behind my back. "So maybe it wasn't your idea to be my clone, but I swear I will never let you take my place. You do anything—you look at him the wrong way—and you will pay."

"That's rich coming from you—the woman who kills him."

chapter 6

Amy glared at the elf in front of her now.

He had been trying to make lunch in a ...'Right way' by his words.

She had been making craft macooroni'in cheese lunch, and had finished. When Amicus had looked over her shoulder and had exclaimed.

"Is that cheese!"

She had angrily said 'yes' but as soon as it came out, she really had wondered if it was actual cheese.

"Is it procesed?" he had asked next, with a curl of his lip.

She had hesitated, but in a given up manner she sighed that it was.

The Érenyel: Part 9 (Judgment)

Just then, Vúnyeðel and Shereynah, Durfil, Qeylen and Rhonnah returned, having made haste to come and tell their parents of the deceiver.  And when they beheld their parents, they said, “What have you done?  Surely you have not given your stones to this false one, of whom we were warned?”  And they wept.

Many words passed between the parents and their children, which are recorded in The Generations of Rayôn.  The parents remained obstinate in their deed in the presence of their children, and Ordéash boasted of his victory.

Poised

Poised,

Ready to strike.

Sword raised,

Pencil raised,

Ready to strike

At the enemy

With raised

Sword,

With raised

Pencil.

A sweeping motion,

The enemy blocks.

What next?

Write,

Block.

Write,

Block.

Write.

The room fills

With loud sounds

Of clanging swords

And rustling papers.

Poised.
