river, pond; melody, song "The Masquarade"

Petticoats ripple around my legs like waves trying to escape the hoopskirt. Wet-pebble shoes peep out underneath as I walk to the engine room. The weight enforces slowness on me, a welcome break from a life spent running. A scarf of sapphire silk cover all of my face but my eyes.

The Doctor glances up from the console, brushing his long, white dress shirt off a dial. Another bowtie compliments his dark pants. "Well, what a beautiful waterfall, Melody Pond." His eyes blink through aviator goggles.

"Aren't you going to dress up?"

"This is my costume, can't you tell?"

Chapter Twenty

We were now in the heart of the City, and the light of the Clock was burning brightly. Fleeing into every shadow, we found that there was a great stir, and we heard hushed voices were heard in the Square. There was much pattering of feet. Horse hooves clattered. The Marher were about. Our flight became quicker and footfalls lighter; yet we knew that we must path through the Square. It was the swiftest way. And time could not be spared, as the Marher were watching for us.

Chapter 4

Nicole smiled as she picked out colors she liked. It would be for their wedding.

They were going to marry a month after graduating. And she was so excited!

"Are you sure?" Joseph said, looking a the marroon color she had liked.

And Rain is falling

They come to Him in prayer.

followers of the Creator on their knees

          They’re asking for His care.

            And rain is falling.

          They ask Him to sustain

as they fast, eyes on Him

and choose to trust while in their pain.

            And rain is falling.

         Hearts of stone, of pride

          He brings back from

         the one who lied.

         And rain is falling.

Mercy Victorious: Part 3 of 3

Lile didn’t leave the barn for two days. She slept in a loft and refused to leave Mischief’s side. Mia brought her food and water, but said nothing. The morning of the third day, she went out and dug a hole to bury the kitten. Then she dried her tears and went inside.

Coem was on his way out the door with his pack on his back when she entered. “Good morning, Lile!” He said.

                “Morning,” Lile mumbled.

“I was going outside to gather some bark. Would you like to come?”

My Lady Moon

My Lady Moon, she treads so soft
like webs of dreams gone by.
She sails in blue, a gown of blue
as hushed as Heart’s last sigh.

She turns her face, so strange, so fair
an opal in the dark
with eyes as chilled as Arctic waves;
her face, let mortals mark.

Aloft, she lives with Night, the one
that she has named her friend
The wolves, they howl till they find her
and may they then, cease, end?
