I never understood the oddities of life that had beset my family for centuries. Some said it was a curse for some long-forgotten sin that had been committed. Others called it coincidental, something that happened by chance.

Submitted by Arthur on Wed, 02/29/2012 - 07:37

There was once a rich and powerful kingdom called Modeñia. The King of Modeñia’s name was Karshë; he was peace loving, and a good ruler. In fact, his passion for peace was so strong, it blinded him to the looming danger. For, when war threatened, he went to the enemy himself to ask for peace, not understanding that the enemy did not want peace, and failing to first prepare a defense...

This is the sad story of the Kingdom of Modeñia, and of the brave Prince Zobed. This is my story, the faithful friend and servant of Prince Zobed.

Once there hopped a giraffe who was drunk on Fruit2O. He blew apart a nuclear chuckwalla, which weighed five submarines worth of jellyfish. The chuckwalla took Robert to Disneyland, where plutonium grows dangerously, threatening Joseph with nudebranchs flying through Manhattan and Timbuktu. Duckies crawled over the US to arrive, rotting, in Jack Bauer's stomach. Godzilla went berserk because trolling was illegal. Matt Flannigan exploded into Hillary Clinton. Daniel Kenline ate diseased nommers because he hated zombies.

Millie followed her Grandfather out of the study. It felt strange to see him so young and full of life, walking tall and without a cane. As they made their way up the stairs and through the long hallways, Millie was amazed to see just how many servants there were bustling about. The majority seemed to be gathering things and taking them in the direction of the ballroom, but there were a few with anxious looks on their faces. Millie pulled at Grandfather's sleeve.

'Is there something wrong? Why are some of them worried?'
