The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Review

WARNING!!! THIS HAS SPOILERS.

Today, Laura, William, Emma, Sarah, and I watched the second Hobbit movie. My thoughts of this movie are not in the order that the movie went, just so you’ll know. I wrote them down as I thought of them.

I HATED Radagast. Sorry, folks, but I really did. When Saurumon said 'Radagst the brown, Radagast the fool!' It couldn't have been said better. And I don’t know why, but Radagasts silly little rabbit team that pulled his ‘wagon’ thing irked me, too.

Fear: A Silver Lining

Fear: A Silver Lining.

“The only thing we have to fear, is but fear itself...”

President Franklin Roosevelt said this on March 4, 1933. The reason why is because of the financial problems with the whole nation during the Great Depression. During those sad times, many died in the inside before their physical body deteriorated.

Mindless

You are casually up against me
I know that's where my world lies
In those hands, decorated hands
Though it's less in your control than mine

Oh, tilt your head back, let me see them eyes
Oh, poor thing, you're running out of my time

And oh, I'll tilt mine, tilt it far to the side
And oh, poor you, they're all out of their mind

You are casually up against them
You know that's where their world lies
In those hands, decorated hands
You try your best but--
It's more in your control than mine

In love (sonnets)

In love.
(a few personal sonnets which I'm proud of)

Obsessions overcome,
My feelings control,
I must be dumb,
Or at least very dull,
To think after everything,
I've felt and thought,
I would be free of dreaming.
Over and over I've taught,
myself that it doesn't make sense,
To love and be a friend.
My dreams come as defense,
Because logically it's just pretend.
I tell him "I've been thinking about you all day"
But he passes it off as just something nice to say.

Chapter 2

GOLD SEARCH

Joe sighed. “I guess we’ll have to go all the way back tomorrow.”

“I don’t see why we can’t go now. If we hurry, we can get there and back not long after dark,” Pam said.

Joe sighed again. “I guess you’re right. Come on.”

Grabbing the papers, Pam bounded down the stairs after her brother. Running into the garage, they got their bikes out and rode to Mr. Fortings house. Pam rang bell. A minute later Mr. Forting came to the door and opened it. “Back again?” He asked, his face showing some surprise.

Not Perfect Part 3 -- Kristen's POV

I finished eating my miserable cornflakes after mum left. I rinsed the bowl out and dumped it in the sink before grabbing my phone to ring my best friend, Jenna. She answered in her cheery, bubbly voice.

“Hey Kristen!”

“Hi. What are you doing today?”

“I’m at the mall, with a couple of friends.”

“Could I join you?”

“Darling, when are you never not welcome?”

My mood brightened at her cheerful banter. “Oh, I don’t know. But thanks.”

Chapter 1

THE LOST TREASURE

“Oh, look, Joe!” Eleven year old Pamela Holt said, excitedly pointing a something soft and black on the side of the road.

“Why, it’s a puppy!” Pam's twelve year old brother, Joe, said. He had blond hair.

Pam's curly shoulder-length golden-blond hair rippled in the wind as she said, “Oh, mother, won’t you turn the car around? I want to see it!”

“Yes, momma, do!” Betty, who was the baby of the family, and only six, said.

Bestest

Bestest.

The word was bittersweet in her mouth as she gazed down at me. I was actually taller than her, I knew that for a fact, but she was wearing those intimidating stilettos again. I had an awful time balancing in a pair of heels. I don’t know how she did it. And anyway, it didn’t matter. I wasn’t a stiletto type of girl.

“So you had fun?”

Carol Time

It has come to that time of year again when my sisters play the carols over and over and over again with no mercy.

It is also that time of year when there seems to be round after round of Christmas work parties, or end-of-year celebrations.

…and of course, the pretty Christmas lights and decorations. And carols. Bring on the carols!
