Resolutions and another boat-load of poetry
I: Suffocate
you look my way and I can't breathe
anymore
suffocating under your gaze
but when you look away
and the breath comes rushing in
oh! I'd rather suffocate

Wishes -
Said by some to be foolish,
by others to be vain,
Yet I think
that wishes are like rain.
Refreshing, full of promise,
Not always what it seems,
And yet, these lofty dreams
Are often all we have to keep us
from drifting away.
Eyelash wishes
a trivial form
of deepest wish
and mysterious morn.
A good luck motion
of motives pure
makes dreams knit
and fills the heart.
Eyelash wishes
like butterfly wings
gentle and fleeting
an undilating sing.
Keely pounced. Her hands closed on squirming, wiggling fur.
"Got you!" she yelled.
"Ugh, ugh, let me go," said the jackalope.
"Not until you grant me a wish. You can do that, right?"
"No!"
"You can so! I know because George used one of you to find the best place to dig the new well for the kitchen garden."
"Oh, very well," groaned the jackalope. "What is it, then?"
The Wishing Game.
Afraid to ask questions,
pretending they don't exsist
surely things will break
sooner or later,
for the questions hover, watching
like dragons in the air.
Standing near the rooftops,
looking past garages, trees
basketball hoops and cars,
the distant places,
someday, I'll go there
and the words hover, waiting,
like dragons in the air.
