I'm Easily Embarrassed, but Won't You Talk to Me?

I waited for fifteen minutes
And we hardly even made eye contact
But you know what?
I'm not even apologetic.

You laughed at a joke I made
A little later on
And you know what?
That was the best part of my night.

Why is my heart beating so fast?
You're right there and we could talk a bit
Dangit, I blew it, now I'm blushing
Hey, at least there's still tomorrow.

Radio Waves

Submitted by Flying Past Clouds on Sun, 10/20/2013 - 18:29

We're fast and free and rebels at heart
We'll never grow old and never grow apart
We're radio waves and static interference
We're just a few more teenage delinquents

We pretend we're immortal and say we'll never die
We don't answer questions concerning 'why'
We're nothing but energy and everything but them
We sing and we dance and say work is a sin

I walked in the door, completely out of breath.
“Hello, Charlotte!” Evander said, reaching over and patting a third chair at their table. “We've got dinner almost ready. Won’t you sit down?”
I put my things down and sat down next to him. “Where’s Iuean?”
“He’s finishing the food up. Why?”
“Just wondering…” I sighed.
“Hard day?”
“Not really. I mean, the Puppeteer was a little annoying, but hey–”
“The Puppeteer?” Evander interrupted. “You work with him?”
“Well, sort of.”
Evander bit his lip nervously. “What do you do?”

Violante was bored, but she knew better than to say it out loud. As Krayan would say, "Don't say it out loud, or something will happen." Well, she wanted something to happen, whether or not it was good. She mulled over what she should do in this regard, and finally said, "I'm bored."
Krayan turned to her and opened his mouth to say something when a huge shadow fell over them. They all looked up to see a great, gold dragon descending on them. Krayan groaned.
"He is the first guardian of the Mist of Vision." He hastily explained as a stream of flame came toward them.

On Getting Old

Since others also seem to be catching the omgimgettingolderialmosthavenochildhoodleftwhyamisoangstyidontknowwhatiwantanymore bug, I figured that I would toss in my two cents on the subject.
Ever since I was about twelve, I’ve known what I wanted to do with my life. You know what’s funny is that I don’t even remember what that was anymore.

Cringe

Cringe:
I’m nearing the age of sixteen now, and every time I think about it, or someone mentions it, I cringe. I’d like to think that I don’t know why I’m so afraid of age, but I do.
Age, I have come to learn, is something that happens whether you like it or not; growing up is something entirely different. Growing up is a mental process. Sometimes Growing up comes with Age, but I know from experience and observance that you don’t need Age to Grow Up.

Chapter VII
The Gangs Capture

All next day Sally and her cousins sat near the telephone, hoping for the Chief

Police to make a phone call with good news, but it didn't come.

“I think we should find the gangs new hideout,” Sally said suddenly.

Her cousins looked up from the books they were reading, surprised.

“What?”

“I said,” Sally repeated herself, “Why don't we find the gangs hideout?”

Callie shrugged. “Because we have no possible way of finding it and it's too dangerous and—”

Without you, the sun would be too heavy to rise,
The moon would fall down from the skies,
The stars would go out one by one,
The darkest clouds on earth would come.

With you, my world is made so bright.
You give every second light.
You are the world, and you are mine.
My every day, and my sunshine.
