On the Horizon

1. Summer Wine
My dreams still taste like summer and wine
Vivid flashes of sunsets and freedom
I looked out into the horizon and remembered
The words you whispered in my ear too many years ago
And I smiled.

2. On the Horizon
Vivid wild taste of freedom
Open my eyes to a never ending horizon
If this is what the future looks like
I can’t get there fast enough

3. Bliss
You make me forget
Who I am
And who I want to be
I’m someone else entirely
I think I might like it

4. Patience
You give me the best days
Even when I think they’ll be the worst
Your smile is a drug
That I can’t get enough of
If it ever finds its way to me
I can’t say I’ll complain
Maybe one day you’ll have an epiphany
Wake up in the morning
With my face on your mind
You’ll know that I’m here
Waiting.

5. Caged
He was on my mind tonight
But I guess that’s pretty normal
I should be used to those eyes by now
They still catch me in their trap every time.

More, I know, I'm sorry! The first two were written from the same set of notes, so that's why they're so similar in phrasing. This set is sort of inspired by Oh, Tonight by the Josh Abbott Band (the harmonies are lovely, by the way) and Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey (not the crazy dubstep one on the radio, the normal version). Anyway, critique please. :-)

More posting, hurray!

I liked number 2. The last two lines especially.

I really like the last half of Patience. Especially the bit about the epiphany.

As I always say, I love seeing new posts from you!

I think I liked Caged best. These all seemed to have a sort of repressed feeling, if you know what I mean, or maybe that's just me? (It's probably just me.) :)
