~Thoughts of Today~

Submitted by Libby on Sun, 03/24/2019 - 05:40

My soul is bare...
there is nothing left, not a single drop
to burst into a fountain of magic.
There is nothing,
no fantasy sublime with which to enchant.
My words have failed me—
fled from my mind into
darkness.
All that I own are
the little fancies—
sweet, wispy dreams
that elude my grasp...
and gone are the days that held my clearest thoughts.
Deep is the cavern where the
lost have fallen.
I am left with only a prayer,
heartfelt for its vagueness,
a bare offering of my soul

A different kind of Sea

Submitted by Keziah Frye on Tue, 06/05/2018 - 17:26

Riding on a sea of dreams,
reality ready to burst, at its seams.
Bending the world to our minds,
discovering new places, species, and kinds.

Riding on a sea of waves,
a seagull that screeches, squawks, and raves.
Dolphins that together jump and play,
While whales moan and groan all the long day.

Riding on a sea of sand,
dividing the world between water and land.
Creatures scuttering 'cross the small white grains,
while sea lions bask with their non-existent manes.

As the glowing sun set behind Knight Manor. Isabella Knight a beautiful 21-year-old girl was finishing the last few touches on a surprise birthday party for her mom and uncle her mom’s twin brother. Bella scribbled on a piece of paper the last couple of items she needed to grab from the store.
‘Cake, candles, and balloons.’ thought Bella as she ran out the door to her black truck and rushed to the store. As Bella picked up the last few things on her list her phone rang.
“Hello” “Bella honey, it’s dad is everything ready for your mom and uncle?”

Ocean's Call - Chapter 1

Submitted by Jade Hardy on Mon, 12/25/2017 - 04:07

As Raya walked along the beach she looked out to the sea; breathing in the salty air and watching the waves kiss the sand.  She stopped to watch the dolphins swimming in the cove then turned to walk up the path to her house, she did not notice the ship on the horizon.  Finn, Raya’s older brother was playing volleyball with Jay their cousin, the twins Triton and Tyde, and Adrian, Finn's best friend, as she walked up the path Raya looked up when her brother called her.
“Raya, come play with us, we need one more player!” yelled Finn.

Where Dreams Come True

Submitted by Libby on Wed, 11/15/2017 - 07:01

In my hands I hold the world
A pot of gold I seek to find
My pathway: beams of sunlight, pearled
The rainbow’s end in light enshrined.

The night around me closes fast
Blue skies now deepen into black
I look up to the heavens, vast
For fear of unforeseen attack.

Look! Yonder, there a shadow road
To where it leads, I cannot say.
Dark silhouettes of creatures goad
A swifter flight by moonlit ray.

Hope Revived

His thoughts were racing; reliving every single second, overthinking every spoken word. The fire grew bigger, and the screams intensified. He ran to the window, shattering the glass with the butt of his gun. Sparks were flying, and bits of the roof were already falling down. He was just about to dive through the flaming window when he felt arms around his shoulders, and he was being pulled back to safety.

I Wake

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 05/26/2017 - 17:52

Fingers slide; gently gliding
And touching to feel
My name below the title
My dream came true, this book I'm holding
Yeah my dreams came true

I wake
It wasn't even true
No, what I told you
Never came true

He held me in his arms
And I melted inside his heart
One together, only one forever, yes, with you
I cried with happy tears

I wake
It wasn't even true
No, what I told you
Never came true

The Playhouse

Submitted by Arya Animarus on Tue, 03/28/2017 - 20:46

Deep in the woods,
There’s a little wooden house,
And nobody lives there, but dreams.
And the laughter of childhood,
Floats on the breeze,
And splashes through crystal streams.

Find me beneath the old maple,
Let’s fight a few monsters today,
And return to the hall,
When the quest finally ends,
And we’ll sit with a fire ablaze.
Knowing well that we have
Something fleeting and sad,
That we’ll hold for as long as we can.
As long as we can.
