Subway Train
~~~In darkness shrouded
Death doth steal upon us
With it comes a winter of sadness
Spring has gone, cold has come
We leave a trail, weeping
The sun of life has set, the moon of death has risen
Pale fingers, dark fingers
Grasp and pull away the spark
Ashes in the aftermath of flame
Black soot left as we wept~~~
"Where is he?" Andrews asked, running his hand through his gray hair.
I shrugged. "He was just here a little while ago..."
Andrews gray eyes were snapping. "Go find him, hurry. Tell him they've arrived."
I blinked back in horror. "Me?! But I don't even know...."
Mr. Andrew fixed me with one of his 'hurry and do it' looks, and I rushed off with a little sigh.
I saw a doe and deer go bounding through the trees;
And turning I reached to take your hand
And show the sight to you.
But all I touched was empty air.
I felt a leaf brush against my cheek;
And stooping I bent to pick it up
And let your cheek feel it too.
But sullen trees were my only companions.
I danced in the crashing ocean tide;
And laughing I called aloud your name
Visions of his past,
Times he thought would never last,
haunted him,
Now that his eyes were open.
Grief hunted him,
Pain consumed him
completely now.
What had he accomplished?
A Godly fear took hold
of this man, weak and old,
now dying.
And he begged for Love.
Don’t move. My eyes squeeze shut like a hiding child. The air throbs with my enemy’s approach. Go away, goaway-goaway. Terror pulls the air from my lungs in an unwilling scream. Save me. Save me.
Dissonance presses against my heart; everything fades…
Flickering candlelight caresses my eyelids. “Abigail, can you hear me? Child?” Despite pain stabbing my body, relief floods my mind. Scarlet streaks blur my vision as I open my eyes.
Chapter the Twenty-ninth
My death
The waves pass my green eyes
Green reflects off the blue that’s swishing right in front of me
Nothingness fills my ears
Thoughts fill my mind
Death fills my body
Life no where around
Little kid's voices fill my thoughts
A picture of when I was 4 fills my head
Nothing fills my heart
My soul travels to another heart, then another
My 14 year old body, no longer alive
Chapter the Twenty-eighth
Music rang across the battlefield.
Even the winged monsters glanced up. They did more than that. They shrieked and screeched and buried their heads in their arms- but they couldn’t drown out a single note.
It was a fairy song, a song that banished shadows. And Tamello led it, playing his worn guitar.
"We come through the clouds
To aid in a war!
Who are we?
Reinforcements!
We come with a fury
To protect the Llores!
Who are we?
Defenders!
