Beautiful World

Submitted by little woman on Fri, 01/11/2013 - 01:04

world of white:
white sky
white ground
white whirling through the air
white noise

trees, houses, cars
sprout from the crystal earth
muddy tracks
mar the pristine beauty
poofy coats tuck in their chins
and hurry on

sun sets
moon rises
sparkling beauty returns
deep blue sky
studded with stars
invisible obstructions
coated with glitter
artificial lights
rising heavenward
in golden spirals

beautiful world

(Another one of those poems I wrote for that thing my friends and I do where someone picks a word and we write a poem about, inspired by, and/or using that word. This time it was "stare".)

She stares at the stars
With a starry-eyed stare.
A bunch of small star flowers
Adorn her red hair.
In her new pale green dress,
All trimmed with fine lace,
She's perfectly lovely;
The picture of grace.
As she watches the stars,
He sits beside her and stares;
But it's not at the stars
That he's staring.

Song to Stone

Look at the faces of the lonely cliffs
staring out at the sea
they raise their eyes at night
to glimpse the stars

Look at the faces of crumbling boulders
that say, come, and rest on me
they burrow down in moss
and muddy ground

Look at the faces of earnest, brave pebbles
laughing in rushing cold creek
they dance and spin in light
and water smooth

Look at the faces of silvery-cool rocks
resting in the shade of a tree
they look out at the green
and sigh so sweet

A Tale to Render you Speechless...

....By, Two Previously Exceedingly Bored Girls

An approximately eighteen year old girl lived in the basement of an evil old mad scientist. She could not speak, but had a brother who could understand her sign language. He interpreted for her to the evil old mad scientist who did not listen anyway.

She was the subject of his experiments and so had blue skin and pink eyes. One day, the evil old mad scientist decided to see if he could switch her eye and hair color; because he succeeded, she now had pink skin and blue eyes.
