The City
The lights and advertizments flash before my
eyes all the cars part right and left as a
police siren cries but where night lays her
black blanket down the city dosen't sleep and
nither do I.
The lights and advertizments flash before my
eyes all the cars part right and left as a
police siren cries but where night lays her
black blanket down the city dosen't sleep and
nither do I.
A taste, a touch.
Allow me just to dip my life into yours.
No more, no less, and
Nonetheless
I will be fine, I shall be fine, I will
Not
Give in.
Veins throbbing, pulsing through my skin.
I clench my fist
Tight. Fingernails digging,
Perfect parentheses on my
Palm.
What reads my fortune now? Long life, long love
Short life, no
Love?
Does it matter?
Feel the sun
shine
on your face
warming you
filling this place
cold with dew
from a foggy night
Feel your legs
stretch
as you race
across the wide and
grassy space
rushing quickly
speeding forth
Feel the wind
pull
through your hair
dancing about you
telling its dare
whispering new
pushing forth
Feel your heart
skip
racing on
setting something
within you free
letting you see
into the day
Gentle lapping water
River air. A flash of a fish
The call of geese
Paddle, paddle, splish, splash
I feel like I’m
In the middle of the sea
All of life is good
Happy and free
A fuzzy sound ahead
Getting louder and louder
Not a train coming
There! A ledge of water
Ready the paddles!
Steady your seat!
Avoid the rocks!
And here we go! Wheeeeeeeee!
Adrenaline pumping,
Hair now soaking
Muscles trembling
Ah, but wasn’t
The river fun today?
What will come of this
A wrong decision
Broken thoughts
Beating hearts
A bittersweet sensation
In the fall
The freedom lost
The knowledge gained
What is the cost
Of ignorance
Hearts crack
Lives are lost
Souls cry out
For something more
The battles rage
Ours skys go dark
Our thoughts grow cold
With glad remorse
The clouds roll in
The rains fall down
Something new begins
Oh the beauty of grace
The sun comes again
And dries our tears
Summer has come to a close
The air is cool and dry,
The fields are golden
The leaves are turning red.
Fall has come.
Sheaves of grain stacked
In neat rows scatter the field.
Men, women and children
Harves the succulent wheat.
Fall has come.
Hearts gladden at the full harvest.
Birds fly south to warmer homes
Summer and its memories are gone,
Fall is here, with many to make.
Fall has gome.
The wind is dancing about you
and rain pours through the day
washing it away
to another rainy day
The hope that comes with sunshine
seems lost amidst the clouds
while dampness soaks right through you
security drowning in flood
The rain is falling, pouring
blowing through the field
and everything that's withered
begins to rise and lift it's face
for tomorrow's brighter skies
The rain pours down, dropping
into hands held up, outstretched
reflections of the sky
leaves this heart to fly
Mush, great brazen bulldogs.
Snarl and steam from metal, radiator jaws
across the wind-swept highways of the nation.
Pull your packs through sleet and snow,
beneath the summer sun, or mist and fog below.
Awake and crack the ice-encrusted dew and
shake your manes and roar! Your shoulders
bear the bread and bounty of the land.
Rise up from lair and cave, from shipping yards
and factory lanes. Pull onward sleighs of sovereignty
to workmen sweating in the saw mills,
to business men who sit in the big-city banks,
I know that on the road less traveled
even down the path of shadows
Your love is there for me
And on the churning ocean
when I'm doing my best to stand
Your love is there for me
And when I feel abandoned
I am held, still, in Your hand and
Your love is there for me
But I'm feeling so alone now
misunderstood and so unknown somehow
I need You to
as i walk these streets
lights change.
keeping with the gamblers(of life and love).
wonderment fulfills the demands of
silence
it is now i realize
i love(d) you
but my letters(never really sent)go unheeded
i pass the post office
that resides between my present
thoughts and future actions.
the light on inside fuels my sudden impulse.
i rush through the entrance way, as if thinking
anymore may cause the electricity to fail.
