Holy Night

Away in a manger,
One silent night,
In a humble place
Yet beholding God's pure light.
There is the virgin,
In the middle of it all
Thought of the angel's words,
"He is the son of the Most High." Lord of All.
The little town of Bethlehem
Has seen a great light
How precious is this wonderful time
How blessed is this precious, holy night.

Sunrise Ride

Submitted by Sarah on Sat, 12/01/2007 - 19:30

As the sun peeked over the hills, sending out its first glimmers of light over the frozen, sleeping valley, it showed a glimpse of a man, and a girl, their breath showing in the icy cold, leading two horses toward a trailer. “Whoa, Rocky,” The girl admonished, tugging gently on the lead rope. “Whoa boy.” The other horse, a dark, dark shade of bay, nearly black, turned in nervous circles around the man. “Steady, Lexy, good girl.” He laid calming hand on her neck. “She’s skittish this morning” the girl said.

Through An Open Window

Submitted by Timothy on Sat, 12/01/2007 - 05:30

Rain falls through an open window, scattering
Tiny sparkles in a persistent beat, while
Light shines through an open window, dancing
Across the sill on golden feet

Sounds creep through an open window, whispering
Myriad echoes of the world outside, while
Scents float through an open window, hinting
At fragile rose petals passing by

Wind blows through an open window, feeling
Swaying curtains flowing white, while
Frost sneaks through an open window, beckoning
Silent darkness to bring the night

A song called= It won't be Christmas without you. Deticated to the Soldiers in Iraq on the holidays.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without you
Verse 1: It’s a beautiful sight outside
The room is bright
But something doesn’t feel right
It’s Christmas Eve and yet I don’t feel happy
I want you here because it’s too hard without you
Chorus: It just won’t be Christmas without you
Though everyone’s here
It just won’t be Christmas
Since you’re not here
It’s not the same
Nothing feels right
Without you by my side
It just won’t be Christmas without you this year
Verse 2: Time passes by
As the night draws nigh

Marvelous Light

Submitted by Brianna on Fri, 11/30/2007 - 16:16

A light that shines in the darkness
a spark, an awakened flame
A drift of the air of morning
a light that tells us of day

A star shining out in the darkness
it burns with it’s fiery light
Until it gives way to the darkness
a cloud that darkens the night

But still, not all is darkness
not even night can avail
For I am the light in the darkness
and will carry you. With me you will not fail.

While all the Earth is Quiet

Submitted by Elizabeth on Thu, 11/29/2007 - 18:43

While all the earth lies restful
And the lands lay under cover of sleep
Awake the watchfulness of peace sounds
Awake the awareness of God surrounds
Awake the love of His heart resounds

When the wetness of morn’s dew gathers on thin grass blades
On your heart a hand bades you rest, on mother Mary’s breast
When the moon rises and the stars gather sparkling in the sky
The angels surround your weary face, and sing softly songs of grace

There is Always Hope

Submitted by Raine on Wed, 11/28/2007 - 03:43

Sunlight dapples the ground, sifted to the forest floor by layers upon layers of thick, green branches. The busy, noisy world is nearby. So close you can almost feel it pressing closer. But here, with the tall graceful trees and the whispering of the wind, it is peaceful. Quiet. Nothing hurries here...

The wooded path stretches before me, safely enclosed by kindly branches. Leaves crackle softly underfoot, my skirts swishing against the rough tree trunks as I walk.
