The Gremlins!

Pink and green, red and blue,
Grey and purple-orangey hue,
Big fat eyes; spark-plug ears,
The little people no one hears.

They steal and sneak,
And make a leak,
They hide up in your trees;
Yes, the little people no one sees.

They'll steal your food,
When in your worst mood,
But they'll put it back...
When you've made a new snack.

They sometimes keep things,
"For keeps!" he sings,
Just to make you mad,
Because they're really, really, bad.

Frodo's Thoughts

Frodo’s Thoughts

Frodo meditates while walking to  Crickhollow.

*Walking. Large strides, heavy heart, dark thoughts.*

“Start walking.

I wonder where Gandalf is? I’ve never known him to be truly late before, though sometimes you would think he was.

Battle Music

Battle Music

I hear the wild martial music,

Strongly then it thrills my soul

And makes bright my eyes with joy.

It weaves a vivid story tale

Of heroes deeds in battles fought,

Of victory and glory.

Then a new strain sounding,

Sadly yet sweetly,

It fills my soul with patient waiting.

And its quiet notes resounding,

Tells me of a love unending,

Of a hope all hopes transcending.

Softer now and sadder still,

The music meets my ears.

They have offered me my life for my love.
They will kill us all- unless we surrender Julian.
He is the chosen one; I see that now. It makes sense suddenly, because he was always more than what he seemed.
How could anyone do this to him? And how can he not? He is too noble to let them kill us all. When they hand him over, he will go.
Lovely Julian!
They have offered our lives for my love.

All listen when he speaks. My heart used to thrill, but now it throbs. Soon he might speak no more.

Rest in Peace

Rest in peace, little one

Rest in peace

Your troubles are over, little one

Rest in peace

You looked death in the face

Little one

And did not flinch

Pain

Oh, the pain you endured

All because of your love,

Little one

Be not afraid

They talk of justice, little one

They talk of peace

But who, little one, noticed

When you suffered?

Pray, little one

You are safe now

The Lizard King

I walked through the deserts,
the breezing brusing my shoulders,
becoming my breath,
whispering my name.
So I followed it.

It led me through the barren brush
stiff and wide-awake
and the dried husk of the moon was rising
into the indigo night.
So I watched it.

I thought I heard cold voices
and saw orange eyes glowing back
like half-set suns they watched me
and the voices rose like wavering heat.
So I listened.

Words were not their ways
as I encroached upon their land

To Bake a Cake

We think we know everything; nothing is impossible to our young minds, at least that’s what my very young brain was telling me the day that I decided to make that cake. How hard could it be? I had seen my mother make them a million times. I knew that I could do it…

Behold, he speaks!
He says he will go. He will betray himself to death to save lives. If it will save lives. This he has determined to do, and he will not turn back.
