Henry and the Malcontents, Chapter 7
I feel so grateful. My family is so amazing. Did you ever really stop to think about how wonderful your parents are too you? I didn't, not until just recently. Yet, it was never really something I "pondered over" a whole lot. The realization just came. Maybe it was through other people pointing out how incredible my family is. Maybe it was God. Maybe I've had nothing to think about since school let out and this idea of the fabulousness of my family just popped into my head one day like a ant pops into your picnic.
(So we did that random word thing again. This week it was mailbox.)
After eating a brief meal, Solana and Dominica slipped out of the underground house to take a walk. They had been out for quite a while, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the beautiful day, when Solana stopped abruptly, causing Dominica, who was right behind her, to run smack dab into her.
"What 's up?" Dominica wondered.
"I smell smoke." Dominica started to run. "It might be a forest fire. Come on!"
He heard them.
Dousing his fire, he jumped up and leapt into a nearby tree, looking to see if his companion had done the same thing.

Ten minutes later, Kyndran's wrists were tied and he had been shoved to a sitting position by the fire that Tass had built in the center of the clearing. Ryneré was beside him, hands free. Tass had blindfolded her. And had told her to leave the blindfold alone.
He was also the only one remotely satisfied with the present situation. He was roasting some sort of meat that actually smelled pretty good. Ryneré's mouth was watering and her stomach demanded food.
Tass eventually took the meat off the fire.
“Do either of you clowns want sustenance?”
Anary and Radia glanced at each other.
"Stay in here," Anary said. "Stay out of sight unless I call for you."
Radia slowly nodded and backed into the bedroom she shared with her mother as Anary went to answer the door.
There was a murmur of voices, then she heard Anary call.
"Radia, would you mind getting a drink of water for these fine gentlemen?"
A summers eve was warm with wind,
Yet in the water swamps, forbid
Young Hylas did pace by the bank
With but a small clay water tank
A whisper was along the breeze,
But nothing of this did he foresee
When bending down to fill his tank
Without a word, it suddenly sank
A silvery lighted arm arose
Along with it, sweet lips of rose
Laying at the edge of her bed, long blond hair toppling to the floor,
she heaves a sigh. An upbeat pop song begins to play on her iPod but she swiftly changes it to something to something slower, sadder to
fit her mood, then hugs the music playing device to her chest as she closes her eyes. She dreams of her knight in shining armor, her prince charming. She dreams
of them laughing and smiling and joking with each other. They are so
I am just a shell and all that I can do
Is think about the millions of reasons that I can't forget you.
I am just a shell and all I can every think
Are the thoughts inside my memory, the ones that make my heart sink.
I am just a shell and forever I will be
A hollow little shell because you will never love me.
