Catching Dragonflies

Submitted by Arthur on Wed, 04/04/2012 - 23:16

Catching dragonflies can be great fun, and is very simple too. There are many different reasons to catch them. Some people do it to take pictures, while others do it to observe the insects’ behavior. There is one important rule, though, that should be followed: be extremely careful not to harm the dragonfly. Remember, God told us to take dominion over His creation, which means we are caretakers, not destroyers.

Several tools are needed for catching dragonflies:

Mystery of the Old House (Chapters 7-8)

Chapter VII Kidnapped
The very next night, Kayla woke up, got dressed, and brushed her hair. She stepped out side, at the same time looking at her watch. It was 11:30. It wasn't so cold out now. She walked to the Maria's old house. Stepping inside, she thought she heard voices. Hiding in the same place she and her two friends had the night before, she listened. They were in the same room again, too. They came out of the room, and sat down, this time they didn't leave. “Okay, we've gotta find it, Bill! Got to!”
"I know, I know! But just where is it?” Bill asked Pete.

Crucifixion: II. Take and Eat

One last supper they ate together
The disciples not knowing the storm He would weather.
He washes their feet, and warns they’ll fall away,
Though every one claims he shall stay.

He takes the bread, His broken frame
Shattered to claim the Savior-name.
Take; eat, in remembrance of Him
This must be done to save from sin.

His blood of the covenant is in the cup
Poured out His soul to death, soon after they sup,
Spilled for the covenant and forgiveness of sins,
Shedding blood greater than animal skins.

Saint Pat's on Bridge

wooden stairs I climbed, my feet
bound tight with string. I climbed
up into the darkness with a pack at my heels
a pack of dogs or wolves or mice or deer I could not tell.
into darkness danced we all, springing
up on silent feet
in time to the drums and to the pipes way up above.

what song played pipe and drum, that wound its way below?
though eagerly I danced and sprang to it, I do not know.

Oh, Wonder Why the Sun Fell: Chapter Twenty-Four and Twenty-Five

Chapter Twenty-Four

The terrace was right above me. It almost touched the point in the gatehouse’s roof. I looked around once more to see if anyone was following me. I moved slowly and carefully. When I was in the pinnacle’s shadow, I sprang up, with the agile-ness of a cat. I looked about quickly. There was still no sign that anyone had noticed. Still I remembered that I had heard something come near me.

Desire, don't you drag me down

Into the dark abyss.
Let go your hold upon my heart--
Love is not meant to die like this.
Temptation, tempt my tongue no more
Let this be our last kiss.
Forget me next time you're in town--
Love cannot die like this.
Demons, depart from my dreams.
God, please take away the twist
That perverts my heart, my thoughts and soul.
Love will not die like this.

An Adventure at the Mall

Just one of my very first writings...

Date of Event: February 21st 2011

A few hours at the mall once in a while is okay, but can you imagine eight hours? Imagine, spending eight hours in a crowded mall when you could be home doing anything you like. Well, yesterday, I had to go to the mall to go buy mattresses, bed sheets, and some comforters from Macy’s. Just that day, I had wanted to stay home and watch, “Anne of Green Gables.”
