The Musings of a Newly 15 year old

Submitted by Hannah on Tue, 04/05/2011 - 21:22

Yesterday was my first day of my 15 year on the world. I don't feel much different than I did 2 days ago, when I was a mere 14 year old. I haven't gotten a sudden wealth of wisdom or suddenly understood why I am here or what the purpose to life is. I feel more as if I fit in my own skin, that 15 is the age I belong in for now, and I am content with that. The things that seemed oh so important last year are now dim memories in my mind, things I hardly think about any more.

Paradoxical Renderings of a Simplified Nothing

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Thu, 03/24/2011 - 16:23

Fade into the crowd, stay out of sight, got to lay low in the nightmare

release your fears, wipe your tears, look to some one who won't disappear.

The secrets you hide, don't keep them inside, let them go-rethink your alibi

shadows grow, night comes slowly, don't try to guess-stick with what you know.

(Chorus) wake up, get up, stand up, think up, dream up, living in a world of the simplified nothing.

Open your eyes, pull on the disguise, the number of failures matches the tries.

False Romance, Chpt. 1

Submitted by Arya Animarus on Sat, 03/19/2011 - 04:25

I hope you enjoy this. It started with a simple idea. We are building a new garage onto our house, and the entrance to the second floor is through my room. On the first warm day of the year, I was in there and I had the windows open. the room in the first part of the story is like the incomplete upstairs of our garage. To enlarge a little, it is just plywood and boards. If you have ever seen the inside of a house or shed under construction, you'll know what this is like. i described it pretty well in the story, but that's enough of an intro. Please enjoy this.

Clerihews

I really love writing clerihews. Unfortunately, most are inside jokes between me and my friends, so here are some of my better ones about book characters and musicians.

Benedict, Fish,
Had only one wish
If she would come-to
That wish would come true.

~~~
Dear Nickleback:
I want four minutes back.
Your new single is lame.
Your songs all sound the same!
~~~

My Darling Adam Young,
So sweetly have you sung
To me for near a year
And I love you, Adam, dear!

Heartsong

Submitted by little woman on Fri, 01/28/2011 - 00:55

Heartbeats thud

Creating thunder

Heartstrings strum

A ripple of melody

Thought-wishes explode

Muffling my brain

A blush blossoms

Overspreading my cheeks

Joy bubbles

Resulting in laughter

Confusion reigns

A harmonious disconnect

All is fair in love and war

But

This is not war, so it must be love

Yet

I do not think it fair

 To fall to pieces

When I fall in love

The Maestro Of Our Orchestra

Tall, imposing oak trees the colors of fall parted to form a bay off of the gently flowing river. It was hidden unless you looked for the low branches that one would have to duck under, even in a canoe, to get to this little hide away.

Dark orange, vivid yellow, and turning greens were the colors of the alcove. It was the picture perfect autumn scene. God’s handiwork was written all over this special place, the way every color fit together was better then any interior decorator could try to match.

Your Shy Violin

Submitted by paperpoet on Fri, 11/19/2010 - 04:57

Play me a song

On your shy violin

Tuck her in gently

Under your chin

Tickle her softly

With the bows string

Let me hear her laugh

As you help her to sing

Lend her a voice

With your firm fingertips

Let your bow kiss

Her beautiful lips

Oh! The songs she will sing

And the tunes she will spin

We put the buds in our ears And the phones on our heads We wear them in our cars At our desks and in our beds We have the pods for me and you And we carry them around Connect the cord and turn it on Block out sound with sound
