Who Gives You Your Song?

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Thu, 03/12/2015 - 19:20

Who gives you your song
As you go along,
Through pain and strife,
On the road of life?
What brings you joy,
When you your songs employ?
Is it grace you portray
As you go on your way?
Why do you sing
On the first morning,
Or in the new day,
As you your chords play?
Who gives you your lyrics?
Father? Son? Holy Spirit?
Did God endow you?
Tell me please, is it true?
Do not in silence progress,
The answer is yes!
For if God is your song
As you go along,

The Pledge of the Disciple (Direct the Way): the 2nd Song

Submitted by j. Glen pollard on Tue, 10/28/2014 - 00:53

(Verse 1)
Where should I go?
I am betwix two paths
Having the desire to pursue my LORD
It’s for the King I am fighting for

(Chorus)
Where You go I will follow
Trailing like a second shadow
As I read Your Word I will grow
I’ll stand by You all my days
Every day I will say
Direct the Way!

(Verse 2)
From my great confusion
(Jesus) You deliver out of peril
You put my feet on solid ground
Stray from You I will never

Wandering Heart: Chapter Three

Submitted by Almarien Elarinya on Sat, 09/20/2014 - 00:01

Cennanon leads the way on the steep, twisting path that leads down into the hidden valley of Imladris. Sweet-smelling pines give way to the oaks and beeches that we eledh love so well. There is a sleepy feeling about the valley of Imladris. No evil thing has been here. The night is silent, save for the rustling of leaves as wind passes through the trees and the content noises of small animals as they move about their business, their eyes gleaming in the darkness. Blinking fireflies flit past, briefly illuminating themselves, then going dark again.

River Song

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Sat, 08/23/2014 - 18:27

A river of tears flows from My eyes;
Because of your sin do I cry.
You do not heed Me, and often fall,
But I am still your All in All.

I will give you life
And
I will give you peace
And
I will be your comforting Hand.

I will be your strength
And
I will be your shield
And
I will be your own strong tower.

A river of life flows within Me.
The blood and the water run deep.
I will cherish you and wash you clean;
I will not judge you unjustly.

Jazz

Sway back and forth to the rhythm

Match the colors to the notes

Golden yellow, deep blue--catch 'em!

before they whirl away into long ropes

of mixed melodies, stirring up a velvet-purple,

some orange, a little bit of sweet piano-poundin' pink.

Hear them horns a wailin', an' the bass soundin' out

them strong notes as melt into your soul.

This is Blues.

This is Jazz.

The colors and the melody...swirling everywhere.

You can't keep still, you gotta move,

chasin' the colors, dancin' to the beat.

Maybe Eternity

Submitted by E on Mon, 09/02/2013 - 00:00

1. Eternity
If I’m to live forever
I should pray that you will, too
Because, dear God, I wouldn’t want to live
Without, my darling, you

2. It Was a Bad Day
Maybe all these big girl dreams aren’t for me after all
Maybe I wasn’t born to go to college and get married
Maybe I wasn’t made for the usual course
Maybe I was born with wild eyes
Maybe I was born for the road.

On the Horizon

Submitted by E on Sun, 08/18/2013 - 23:17

1. Summer Wine
My dreams still taste like summer and wine
Vivid flashes of sunsets and freedom
I looked out into the horizon and remembered
The words you whispered in my ear too many years ago
And I smiled.

2. On the Horizon
Vivid wild taste of freedom
Open my eyes to a never ending horizon
If this is what the future looks like
I can’t get there fast enough

3. Bliss
You make me forget
Who I am
And who I want to be
I’m someone else entirely
I think I might like it

rewind

Submitted by Madeline on Tue, 02/26/2013 - 17:52

drawn from the ocean
in a backwards flight
as if God grabbed a remote
and swiftly pressed rewind

i’m drawn in the air
and i’m drawn into the sky
nesting in a white-grey cloud
pillowed and divine

along with a thousand other drops
who furl around; condense
bound together by nature’s pull
and varied circumstance

those drops nested by the sand
they’ll stay pressed in the depths
of cake-like mud and rainbow fish
opposing omnipresence
