Peace of God

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 09/12/2014 - 05:34

Peace God sent me,
Sent from above.
He sent it to me
To remind me of His love

My salvation is true,
My faith is strong,
No price is due:
For in Christ there's no wrong.

The joy I now posses,
The trust He has asked,
He gives me no less;
I love Him at last.

Child of God

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 09/12/2014 - 05:32

How come everyone complains
About how hard life's getting,
When on that tree at Calvary
My holy King was smitten?

God sacrificed His only Son
To ransom all His chosen ones.
On that cross Christ forgave us,
Then He cried "It is done!"

Child of God He's forgiven you,
Can you forgive yourself?
It is wrong yet still you sin,
And then you put it on the shelf.

He Loves Me

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 09/12/2014 - 05:30

In the morning
I bend my listening ear,
And I'll hear the voice of God
Coming near, coming near.
I'll hear His precious call,
And I'll set my every move
To follow the Lord through all.

I know He loves me,
I know He cares,
I know He hears my needs,
Listens to every prayer.
I'll follow in His footsteps;
Follow where He goes,
He knows my every motive,
My joys and my woes.

Patience in the Heart of Man

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 09/12/2014 - 05:26

Patience in the heart of man
Loads of love, no demand.
Waiting silent, waiting still,
Teardrops on the windowsill.
Years of love, years of hate,
Only sinners congregate.
Time to use and time to waste,
Take a breath, slow down your pace.
A priceless virtue: attain it if you can,
Peace and patient waiting in the heart of man.

Bad Things

I. Bad, Bad, Bad
No, no, no, no
Not going down this road
Again
Friends are friends
It doesn’t matter
If they’re boys or girls.

II. What
Why is this jealousy
We’re not—
I’ve never even thought of you like—
Block my thoughts, don’t let them go
Any farther than they already have
“But seriously, she’s too old for you
She doesn’t even speak English,”
Laugh it off
But wow, I really don’t want you to
See this woman ever again.

Ballad of the Homeschooling Mom

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Sat, 08/30/2014 - 02:23

Life keeps running on and on,
Will it ever stop?
I keep singing random songs;
I'm spinning like a top!

Dishes here, and laundry there,
Children crying everywhere!
Never peace and never quiet,
Life is running in a riot!

I feel I'm juggling like a clown,
Science and History going down.
Math and Spanish twirling;
Oh! My brain is whirling!

Tommy, Dick, and Harry,
Amy Sue and Carrie,
I think I'm down to the wire,
My! But I'm getting tired!

River Song

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Sat, 08/23/2014 - 18:27

A river of tears flows from My eyes;
Because of your sin do I cry.
You do not heed Me, and often fall,
But I am still your All in All.

I will give you life
And
I will give you peace
And
I will be your comforting Hand.

I will be your strength
And
I will be your shield
And
I will be your own strong tower.

A river of life flows within Me.
The blood and the water run deep.
I will cherish you and wash you clean;
I will not judge you unjustly.

1. Unnecessary Sharing
He slides his eyes sideways to capture my reaction
I work hard to keep my face unchanged
It’s okay, no big deal
I didn’t ask for his opinion anyway.

2. Emote
Your face is an open book
You can transform into someone else
In an instant
I’m getting tired of trying to keep up
With your mood swings and changes
It’s too hard to help somebody
Who is so far gone.
