Writing---An incredible gift

Notebook flipped open to an empty page

Pencil in hand, eraser in range

A mess of ideas desperately waiting to be written

But yet I think to myself, "Where is my inspiration?!"

Empty, like a useless vessel, I feel

If I was really blessed with such an incredible gift

Why am I not pouring it out to the world?

Oh what a God-given gift I have blessed with!

The gift to design a world of my own

The gift to sing without a voice

The gift to fly on the wings of the wind

The Horse

Submitted by E on Tue, 12/02/2008 - 21:15

Muscles arch and flex.

Coat gleams and shines.

Mane flies and blows.

Tail swishes and swats.

Legs float and dance.

Eyes wild and gentle.

Ears alert and delicate.

Mouth long and moving.

Nostrils flaring and blowing.

This is the Horse.

Our Joan of Arc

She rode on a white horse,
that unforgettable day
she sat, back straight
head held high
the reigns in her hand
dressed all in white
like the lady warrior
she had pride in her eyes
a fight in her spirit,
our Joan of Arc

She rode on a white horse
and led us,
we marched,
flags waving, banners high
our hearts beating defiantly,
strength and hope and pride
and our warrior rode
like she was riding into battle
so brave,
our Joan of Arc

The Stalloin's Breath

Submitted by Bernadette on Mon, 11/10/2008 - 19:22

From the high peak he comes
Like a shadow in the night
Taking the stars his coat does shine
Revealing the moon in his eye
From that eye is a fire
Of dancing beauty, of dancing sea

His nostrils are wide as they flare
Coming forth a breath of might
From his chest comes his neigh
Frightening as thunder,
Piercing the wind

His hooves are that of iron
With thundering swift pace
Muscles of steel deeply carved
Exults their strength rolling stride

Wonder

Submitted by Bernadette on Sat, 11/08/2008 - 17:19

Wonder of the glowing sunrise
With its golden day breaking horizons

Wonder of the laden dew
With tall green grass and sparkling leaves

Wonder of the sun’s bright light
With rays of gold stream down

Wonder of soft cloudy dawns
With cool wind wisps by

Wonder of the glistening lapping waves
With mermaids swimming tails glittering in sun

Wonder of the wavering sea
With blue depths, the sun rays gleaming through

Wonder of the rising whale
With water he leaps, as he comes from the sea

Pellias Upon the Fields

Submitted by Bernadette on Sat, 10/11/2008 - 17:09

Upon the glistening fields, lush and green
There his yellow coat shown, like sun’s glow

Swirling brown mane, pawing white hooves
A brown hidden face, great muscles that arch

His flowing forelock, upon white shining blaze
Swerving shoulders, mixed lifting leg

A curved neck high in strength, mane pours down
Breath-taking eye of wildness and lightning
Sweeping tail, galloping swift legs
Pellias! Oh Pellias! A stallion free!
