Our Joan of Arc

She rode on a white horse,
that unforgettable day
she sat, back straight
head held high
the reigns in her hand
dressed all in white
like the lady warrior
she had pride in her eyes
a fight in her spirit,
our Joan of Arc

She rode on a white horse
and led us,
we marched,
flags waving, banners high
our hearts beating defiantly,
strength and hope and pride
and our warrior rode
like she was riding into battle
so brave,
our Joan of Arc

And even when the times got tougher,
people pushed us,
spat,
shoved,
and stones flew,
she rode high and proud
on that white horse

And even when days got darker
she fought even harder,
strong and fierce,
she never gave up
and even when they tried to humiliate us
she was just as proud and steady
as she had been that day,
our Joan of Arc
riding that white horse

She fought battle after battle,
day after day,
in the cold or the rain,
it didn't matter

Sickness came,
but she fought that too
our brave Joan of Arc,
our strong Joan of Arc
she spoke with passion,
she spoke with pride
A true warrior lady

Alas,
before the battle was won,
before hard times were over and gone,
the great warrior
died

We thought we saw her smiling
the day we triumphed at last
She rode on a white horse,
our Joan of Arc,
dressed all in white,
head held high,
reigns in her hand,
a true warrior,
the pride in her eyes
She rode on a white horse,
Our Joan of Arc

*Dedicated to Inez Mulholland the Joan of Arc who led the suffragists into battle on March 3rd, 1913. She fought and died for the freedom of women in America.*

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

I have always, always loved Joan of Arc. Favorite person ever.

"I always wonder why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same question." - Harun Yahya

Me too... although (funny story) this poem isn't actually about Joan, it's about Inez. I guess I should've made that a little clearer... oh well. :)

OH! I didn't see that! Sorry! So now I'm a little confused.
