God's Will

Be Still

Animosity
My perplexity
A redundant thought
Some small worries fraught
Heart-torn and bleary
Blinded and weary
Sentences framed
Tongue is now aimed
Give me discretion
Show me my lesson
Diminish my fears
Wipe away my tears
I can't understand
But I won't demand
Please Lord, give me sight
Let me be alright
I want to trust You
Your promises true
Delight in Your will
Heart of mine, be still
Look up for the Light
His love gives us sight

Growing Up Into a Man, and What That Should Entail

In the summer, I enjoy getting on my bike and riding away. Just to continue and peddle, away from the city, to paths less traversed. I go for miles, till the path turns to gravel, then the gravel turns to dirt. I continue to ride with the wind rushing past me, pushing my strength to carry me uphill, then gliding down drawn by gravity. It is refreshing to breathe the crisp country air, and even if I have gone this way a hundred times, the path shall never bore me.

Today

Today.

I'm learning how to say it, feel it, breathe it, live it. Up until now ("now" is another word that has been infiltrating my vocabulary), I was all about tomorrow. Yesterday was something painful....now that I look back on it, yesterday was painful because I was too busy chasing after tomorrow.

Today.

Now I see that our God is a God of the Now, the God of Today. Because He is not bound by time, he is the God of the Now.

Do you see how comforting that is?
