Magdalene

Submitted by Mairead on Mon, 05/03/2010 - 13:38

"Mary"
my name came from the lips,
parted in peace
with a smile.
Intense was the love
in warm eyes,
for none other
but the one who lies
in sorrow glorified.
You used my name.
Mercy, you penetrate.
Grace, you recreate.
Resurrected promise;
you saved.
How could I not have known you,
because of my fear?
My heart overcome.
One word so simple
proves my love.
"Teacher," I answer.
Lord you are here.

Fourth Cup

Submitted by Julie on Sun, 05/02/2010 - 19:32

On the banquet table’s cloth of white sits a great wine basin seventy spans across and wide carved with scenes of heaven’s splendor ringed by countless silver goblets each engraved with a true name polished and shining in His light waiting for the day when we dip our goblets and raise the toast, the cup of reunion

at the bridal supper of the Lamb

Struggles

Submitted by stringbean on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 18:35

Every day brings struggles

Moments our souls must decide

To rise above or drop below

Moments to stand or hide.

To love or hate, to do or not do

to be me or just pretend,

I pray that I may have the strength

to not falter in the end.

When will I be back?

Submitted by Tahlia Grant on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 13:00

I have been gone long

And all those who've been waiting

My deepest apologies

You see, with the school year

Finishing as a sophomore

Chemistry algebra etc.

That and rewriting a story

While trying to not be distracted

And homemaker training

My life's been rather busy

It will be so for a while

So just to let you know

I hope to be back soon

Keep up hope and wait

I hope to be back soon!

The Chimeras of Sleep

Submitted by Clare Marie on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 04:26

**These are two pieces of writing, each based on two different dreams I've had recently, and alas, can remember only hazily.  Most of what is written was what I can remember, but I added some (mostly necessary) details and of course tried tying it together so it made some sense.  The first one I think I'll just leave it as it is; but the second one...I don't know, do you think it could lead to a story?**

Plate O'Dreams

Submitted by Sar on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 00:58

Maybe I'll shop

At Sally Ann all the time

Maybe I'll have

More dollars than dimes

Or maybe I won't get to eat out

All the time

But if I can have

Just one plate o'dreams per day

I'd give all the riches in the world

Away

Maybe I'll have to

Work three jobs to pay the bills

Maybe I'll have more sweat and tears

Than flowers and frills

Or maybe my cooking

Won't consist of three-course meals

But if I can have

Just one plate o'dreams per day

Writer's Block

Submitted by paperpoet on Fri, 04/30/2010 - 21:43

A dull decript desperation
A lack of every inspiration
That it's energies would lend
To my languid wandering pen
That some wonders yet untold
Would upon this page unfold
To hearten those without a prayer
Alas! Tis me that's standing there-
In this tepid inconsistancy
That ever bores and frustrates me.

Dedicated to all on Apricot Pie. Unfortunatly I'm no longer going to be writing for Apricot Pie...but I wish you all the best.
