This is America.
The land of diversity and freedom and change.
Change is good, but we’re seeing too much change. We’re seeing the kind of change that tears us down; eliminating the beautiful and weak in its wake.
The New York Capitol is a beautiful building, but its foundation was built on sand.
No, this is not a post of random musings.
We recently saw New York legalize abortion up to nine months as well as during delivery. People around me are applauding this new law, but I’m sick.
I’m sick and angry. Heartbroken, too.
People compare abortion to child sacrifice, but I believe that it isn’t even comparable. The people of old who practiced child sacrifice at least believed that they were doing the right thing in their own broken, twisted way. They sacrificed for safety and provision. They sacrificed to save their own lives. While, yes, that was selfish and sick and wrong, they at least did it because of their belief in a deity. The WRONG deity, but at least it was a deity.
Abortion is beyond that. It’s murder in the name of lust, selfishness, convenience, and pleasure.
Yet abortion is one of the most fought-for “rights” and “freedoms” in America today.
There are more bills in more states that are much like the bill passed in New York. There are more spineless senators and governors and representatives who will bow before evil and spit at God.
This is reality. This is how Godless we are. This is America.
But I am not void of hope. I am not void of faith. And I am certainly not lacking in the knowledge that God is sovereign over this nation.
There are Godly men out there. There are Godly senators and representatives and governors who will (hopefully) make a stand for truth.
There are Godly citizens, too. YOU are one of them! So make your voice heard today. Stand up for truth. Be bold and kind and fearless in the face of cowardice and selfishness.
Do you fear God, or do you fear man?
“He has shown you, oh man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
Some musings spurred by recent happenings in my home-state. I’m working with some fellow Texans to try and pass a bill that will criminalize abortion. It’s such a difficult, emotional work. But oh so worth it. I’m inspired by a present-day saint who passed away recently. Please read Jeremiah’s story and sign his petition. Share it, too! Jeremiah’s wish deserves to become nationally famous. https://jeremiahswish.org/

Thank you, Grace. I
Thank you, Grace. I appreciate the prayers so much!

Damaris, thank you so much
Damaris, thank you so much for posting this. My prayers go with you as well <3
By the way, I was so proud of our President when he spoke out against abortion and said that all babies, unborn or born, are made in our God's image! It was so neat, and your essay reminded me of that.
So thank you once again for sharing on such a significant issue.

Thank you, Libby!
Oh my, yes. I am so thankful for the statements he made. I feel like the Lord is growing in him and strengthening him. Trump has far surpassed my expectations of him. I’m so thankful for the hope we have in Christ. Godly men are rare! But God is good. That’s something I have to remind myself of every time I get caught up in being angry at the wicked men in our nation.

I feel the same way Damaris!
I feel the same way Damaris! When I first heard of that bill in New York I couldn't hold back the tears that came to my eyes. Abortion is so inhumane and cruel. In fact I hadn't thought about that distinction between child sacrifice and abortion before. But you are right. Abortion is selfish and wrong on every level.
Our world is truly depraved and every one of us is in need of a Savior. But Praise God that there are godly men out there! And I'm very grateful for our president and the changes that he is making! Though still there is much evil prevailing in our country yet. Our country and our leaders, senators, governors, and judges that make a stand for the truth and for what is right need our prayers.
I totally support what you are doing, and I will be praying for you and your friends! God is our strength, and through His help, we can accomplish great things for His kingdom, even in the face of so much evil!

Thank you so much for your comment.
Yes!! They definitely need our prayers. That’s something I’ve been urging my friends to do on my social media accounts.
I’m excited to see what happens here in Texas. I have hope. Praise God for that!

Damaris, this was so good. I
Damaris, this was so good. I know how you feel; it was so heartbreaking and sickening to hear of New York's new law and the unbelievable cruelty that America inflicts on the smallest members of society that should be cherished and protected. I love, though, that you didn't leave me in my heartbreak and anger; there is hope for America, because we serve a God who is greater than anything we face, and even now he is working. I will be praying for you as you fight to protect the unborn.
