The land of diversity and freedom and change.

Change is good, but we’re seeing too much change. We’re seeing the kind of change that tears us down; eliminating the beautiful and weak in its wake.

The New York Capitol is a beautiful building, but its foundation was built on sand.

No, this is not a post of random musings.

We recently saw New York legalize abortion up to nine months as well as during delivery. People around me are applauding this new law, but I’m sick.

I’m sick and angry. Heartbroken, too.

This sand in our hands
Is slipping away
Our time for tomorrow
Taken up by today
The millennial downfall
Is our pride and false wisdom
Our obsession with highs
And our lack of true love
Productivity stems from caffeine
Willpower forgotten
Smitten with celebrities
Elevating internet fame
We see the world through a lens
Not knowing how to go get it
Conquered by lack of likes
We fall, defeated
Crushed by self-loathing
In comparison to others
We fall short in our eyes

Theism had a critical influence on America’s development of law, government, and culture. America’s beginnings, under the King George III’s heavy hand of tyranny, gave birth to patriots who worked hard, sacrificed much, and held liberty dear. They valued a form of government that fit with this mindset. This form of government and culture was, as John Adams said, “made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

--Abortion, Christianity, and William Wilberforce--

You’re probably thinking…”What in the world do all these random things have in common? Oh, okay, well I can see the connection with abortion and Christianity. Okay, and the mess we’re in, obviously. But what about that random guy Wilberforce? Don’t I remember that name from my 10th grade history class?”

*a/n* Let me preface this by saying that I am a proud citizen of the United States of America. However, this has been bothering me for a while. I know that some people on here will disagree with certain aspects of this essay, and that's fine! I mean no disrespect. I'm simply trying to put a few things that I have gathered from some fairly recent experiences into perspective. Just to caution you, this has a lot of older themes such as racism and general discrimination.

In the United States’ upcoming presidential election, we are faced with two candidates from the two major opposing parties: democrat and republican. The democrat candidate we know and are familiar with: Barrack Obama, our president for the past four years. But what of the republican candidate, Mitt Romney? Who is he? What does he believe? If you are like the majority of Americans, you probably don’t have a clue. Whether by intent or otherwise, Mitt Romney has successfully kept secret what he truly believes, when it comes to the realm of politics, from most Americans.

We hear it all the time.  It’s about the only thing that a majority of “main-stream” Americans and the political elitists agree on.  The middle class pays too much in taxes, but the rich don’t pay enough.  “Tax the rich!” they cry.  “Make them pay their fair share!”

Too many of us buy into this lie.  I hope that if you are among them, that you will consider my argument and rethink your position.  Here is a fundamental principle of life:

You cannot help the wage earner by tearing down the wage payer.
