Lowercase Ramblings

1. Freckles
you have a lot of freckles
i had never been close enough to notice
they all kind of join together
i like them

2. Oops
i thought i was over you
seriously, this time
but she said you were cute
and i wanted to claw her eyes out
oops
here we go again

3. Well Okay
letting go
is harder
than i thought

4. Oh Well
i can miss you
with all my might
but you won’t
miss me back
it’s okay
no big deal
i’ll keep missing you anyway

5. Not That Far
you look really tired
i’m really tired too
look, something in common
we aren’t that different, are we?

6. :)
dimples i’m happy
aren’t you too
i like it when we both
smile

7. Better
i really hate you right now
but i think it’s because i care
you’re so sad let me make it better
everything’s a downward spiral for you
glass half-empty
let me make it better
how do i make it better

8. Too Lovely
you lovely boy you
smile sends me over the edge
take me somewhere i don’t care
kisses good hold my hand
i’m too in love to give a damn

9. Again and Again
redundancy
my greatest pet peeve
but it keeps on happening
can i spice it up
no
god i need to care about something other than
you

10. Really
sadly autobiographical
my friends told me that sixteen would be
angsty
i laughed it off, said i would be fine
now here i am
i’m freaking depressing
on paper, anyways

11. Anywhere
somebody take me on a date
anywhere away from him
my love, supposedly
i feel like i’ll never be ok
make me feel ok

12. Hashtag
i just wrote like the cheesiest thing ever
i’m kind of ashamed of myself
like really
that sucked
i just turned a decent idea into
a corny teen romance
#facepalm

13. Future is a Fickle Thing
future is such a funny word
people think it means success
but success is so subjective
success could be successfully going to school
becoming a lawyer or a writer or a teacher
or success could be successfully living in an alley
becoming a hooker or a bum or a drug dealer
or even dying
there’s a future in dying, since there’s life after death
right?

14. Love
i’ll always think you’re beautiful
even when we’re old and gray
isn’t that corny
but so embarrassingly true

15. Don’t
your voice drives me crazy
the good kind of crazy
just keep talking
you don’t have to stop

16. Last
i’m feeling so inspired right now
and i don’t even know why
i’m tired and i should go to sleep
but i don’t know if this inspiration
will stick around tomorrow

Basically, I just want to say what I just said to HomeschoolGirl, which is that these are nice snippets but I think they'd much improve if you didn't, well, chop them up so much. For example, with a little bridging and attention to rhythm, 2 through 4 could be one poem. Just a thought! :)

(Okay, I just submitted a comment that was accidentally anonymous. So when it comes up, you'll know it was me xo)

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

I need olives to process these poems... the lowercase "I"s were... *gulp anxiously beginning to tear up* painful... but I made my way through it *sigh and gasps for breath*
LOL! I did like these though! My favorite probably is: Oops.
SO CUTE! but she said you were cute
and i wanted to claw her eyes out haha! I've never felt this way, but I could just envision it! :P
Can't wait for more!!!

Write On!

Thanks to both of you!
Anna: I can see what you mean, I'll experiment around with it!
Kassady: Lol, yeah, those were a bit painful for me, too, but I felt like I had to stick with the theme.
Thanks, y'all!

Really is my favourite. Well done! So true!

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh
