**These are shorter poems with no relation to each other whatsoever.... I guess this is kind of like Anna's Nonsense Poets, but I'm not planning on making more of these....**
[1. "Austen-tatious"]
Call me boring, analytical
call me dull, over critical
but I find I'm Charlotte, cynical
in such things as love.
Call it a shame, an unhappy thing
call it a sighing tragedy
but sense and sensibility
aren't saying quite as much.
Call it lonesome, fleeting
call it foolish, seeming
but I find I'm Charlotte, dreaming
that I did not believe it chance
Call me unlucky, seeming shy
call me stuck, trying to hide
but prejudice will converge with pride
if I do or do not dance.
[2.]
Sweeping views, crested with a perfect dome
an eggshell blue, painted wispily
columns rise beside pew after pew
shiny wood,
kneelers and altar and gold.
Elegant marble, statues with their mournful eyes
always upward, hands folded
glass stained all the colors of the world
every hue
arches and doorways, all grand.
Take my hand.
For though I remember the majesty,
all the glory and brightness, ravishing
to You I've never felt as close
as I did when I knelt on dusty stone
in a shadowy, silent, one-candle room
prayers with no words.
I need You.
Cathedrals are beautiful, a reminder to all
their bells toll and remind us
but inside, I find that prayers slip away
words confused,
Your voice lost amid all of its noise.
[3. "Bears"]
When I was young, I lived with bears
for maybe a week of two;
When at last I came home again,
I was glad to come home to you.
[4.]
I see you singing along,
every time I hear that song,
I feel like you’re right here next to me
the way things used to always be
and we thought they always would
they’re not nowadays, but the music’s good
and when the piano hits that note--
oh! A spark of your smile.
[5.]
Words hang in the air before me
until I pluck them like ripe apples
and crunch.

I love these!!! The first and last were my favorite. I especially love the brevity of the last. And the beginning of the second poem reminded me straight off of St. John's Cathedral...made me wonder if you had written that right after the Pro-Life Mass.
