Lily white, her crown of snow
In curving light her petals grow.
Bird in flight sees her below,
Moved by sight of such a glow.

22. Spring
First won't look like much
but it smells and sounds and feels
like coming alive

“I hope you dance,” whispered Moira
To Neal at their very first ball
“Sweet lass!” he said as he kissed her
They were wed before the next fall.
“I hope you dance,” Cora’s brother
Teased as he saw her big chance
But the man who made eyes at his sister

"You look distracted, Leo." Mrs. Trent said sweetly. "What's on your mind?"
Leo turned to the prying embassador with a carefree smile.
"I'm waiting to meet a contact to instigate a plan that should stop the end of the world."

Well, at least that's what he would have said, had he no sense of self-control in strenuating circumstances, which, fortunately, he had.

Storm - Chapter I

Charles tightened his hold on his pistol grip; blood was making his fingers slip.
Sprawled on the rain-soaked floorboards of the now roofless building, water pelted down in apathetic torrents over his defeated figure.
The heat from the burning house around him made the numerous cuts and wounds on his body sting, the blaze illumkinating both him and the tall man standing across the room. "You thought you could go on, have a life?" the menacing voice echoed in Charles' ears.

Sure, I can be big
I can be strong
I can even be smart

I risk my life in strange countries
I die in fires
I save lives
I also put criminals behind bars

But I am also unknown
I make a little girl with no hair smile
I wipe the tear of a small boy
I make a baby giggle
I change a family’s life
