God

Sunset

Submitted by stringbean on Tue, 05/04/2010 - 02:50

I love to see a sunset!

A sky not just blue

but orange, green, and russet

yellow and purple too!

The sky is briefly colored-rainbow

Colors stretching around earth's bend

With beams bright or mellow

It has not rain or even end!

No end to color in the sky

But brief is the medley's stay

for eventually they must bid good-bye

Night overtakes the day.

Fourth Cup

On the banquet table’s cloth of white sits a great wine basin seventy spans across and wide carved with scenes of heaven’s splendor ringed by countless silver goblets each engraved with a true name polished and shining in His light waiting for the day when we dip our goblets and raise the toast, the cup of reunion

at the bridal supper of the Lamb

Struggles

Every day brings struggles

Moments our souls must decide

To rise above or drop below

Moments to stand or hide.

To love or hate, to do or not do

to be me or just pretend,

I pray that I may have the strength

to not falter in the end.

Gods child

one day, a very sad day God said to me,

"little child little child do not cry if you may."

"for your here to stay so wipe away the tears on your cheek."

"so lets go for a walk and we can talk all the day away"

so off we went,

 my hand in his,

his hand in mine I knew he was so kind,

then he said to me,

"little child little child tell me all your problems"

"for your here to stay on this day and on this walk so we can talk all the day away"

I told him my problems and then he said to me.

Dark Wood

Loose with weariness was I Walking with my eyes half-closed My feet strayed onto strange paths Cloaked in dread and evil Trees leaned in to whisper lies Shadowed beasts lurked silently Only phantoms to my eyes Then they attacked Sweeping down from treetops dark Dashing in from thorns and briars A violent awakening Monsters of myth and legend Stalking our reality Screaming in utter terror But He comes and takes my hand I can see the monsters now But I also see His beauty
