Broken Heart

Submitted by Wings of Eternity on Sat, 06/11/2011 - 16:57

Note: This poem was inspired by the song Broken by Lifehouse.

The broken voices, they whisper,

drowning out the sound.

They all strive to remind me,

that you are not around.

The simple answers evade me.

They will not let me know.

Who it is that I am now

if I truly let you go?

How is it that I’m breathing

when I can’t even feel at all?

James Theophilus Andrews

On June 10th, we are celebrating the first birthday of my little brother, James Theophilus Andrews. I am writing this to tell the story of his first year of life, and I hope no one will find it dull :)

James was the fourth of my siblings to be delivered at home by my dad. It started with Matthew. The midwife couldn't get to our house in time, so Pa really had no choice. That was in Jacksonville, Florida.

Descent to Chaos

{this isn't based on fact, but the musings of my mind. There have been no protests here, and we don't see any reason for there to be any; the local people are happy. But I put myself in the shoes of one of my friends in a nearby country, and this is what resulted}.

Shouts and angry voices drifted up from the street.

Lessons Learned

Note: Here is a bit of an older poem, but I thought I'd upload it for you all to enjoy :)

You cannot experience sun without rain,

joy without sorrow,

love without pain.

You cannot enjoy laughter without tears,

smiles without frowns,

trust without fears.

Love is a Journey

Note: Well here we are, something a little different for you all! I normally write poetry, but I do have a few short stories lying around and I thought I'd post one. This is based off of some real events. I really did get the necklace described in this piece from my Godmother for college graduation. Also, the necklace does mean to me what I describe in the story.

The War Within

Submitted by Wings of Eternity on Tue, 04/19/2011 - 04:13

Note: Here is a new piece that came to me bit by bit the other day. It centers around spiritual warfare and that good will triumph over evil. Sorry if it is a bit intense, but that is part of the emotion I was trying to convey.

Smoldering eyes,

Tell unending lies,

That pin me down with shame.

Talons attack,

Pain is back,

Yet I was not to blame.

Arms raised,

Leviticus: VI. Brought Near

Submitted by Kyleigh on Sun, 04/17/2011 - 09:48
{the final installment of Leviticus - a summary, in verse. My next post will be about A Mysterious Jar...)

A nature of sin, a soiled soul,

A people hostile against their God.

The relationship He initiated is broken,

Their unholiness requires a rod.

Their sin deserved His immense wrath,

For His perfection could not be near
Their dirt and filth

Demanded the death of all this earthly sphere.

The altar, stained with blood.

An animal’s death was required,

The shedding of blood for forgiveness.

With the Words "Tornado Warning."

Today I was sitting at my computer typing up a story, when the weather station called. My dad answered it and after listening, told everyone to get to the middle of the house because there was a tornado near our house. We all ran to the downstairs bathroom, which is in the middle of the house and sat down (thank goodness it's so big, I have six sibs). If you know me at all, I have a HUGE fear of tornados, and I am not stressing that point at all.

Leviticus: V. Rest

{this is the second-to-last installment of "Leviticus." The final one is a poem... to come... sometime. It's written now but we've been really busy lately with Irish dance and orchestra and hospitality and school}
