God

The Innkeeper

Submitted by Taylor on Fri, 11/18/2011 - 22:12

it was not
enough
that rent was free in my inn
for you to stop
and stay with me

so i ran
out into the street
waving my arms frantically
as you passed by
chasing another
as desperately as i chased you

my dreams
i burned on your alters
my future
i offered up on your shrines

but you never came
so i spoke to you
as a rain cloud speaks
to the desert,
pouring myself into the sand
but my heart found
no oasis
there

Mercy Victorious: Part 1 of 3

Submitted by Kyleigh on Wed, 11/16/2011 - 09:40

 {Here's the first part of Mercy Victorious. It's longer than the other short versions of the stories but still shorter than a full-length. I have to say, I think this has been my favorite to write and re-read - probably partly because the characters are inspired by real-life people and the story came in pictures, like Nikolai}

The Pool of Reflections

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Tue, 11/15/2011 - 14:10

 - For anyone who was wondering, I have come up with a cycle for posting my stories. Last week I posted Chapters of The Gifted Part 1, and The Gifted Part 2. This week I am posting a chapter of Thieves as well as a piece of poetry. Next week I will post a chapter of All the Time in the World and another piece of poetry. I would also like to clarify to anyone who reads The Gifted parts 1 & 2 that they are not the same story. Part 2 takes place after part 1, which is not completely posted yet.

Give Me the Faith

Submitted by Wings of Eternity on Fri, 11/11/2011 - 05:55

Give me the faith,

The faith to believe,

That the more that I give,

The more I’ll receive.

Give me the faith,

The faith to understand,

That every single moment,

You hold in Your hand.

Give me the faith,

The faith to be strong,

To believe in Your promises,

when all appears wrong.

Give me the faith,

The faith to cope,

How Can I Console You?

Submitted by Clare Marie on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 23:54

“O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console…”  -St. Francis of Assisi

-

Sometimes

loneliness

fills my heart, where You should be.

Why can’t I feel

You?

Heartbreak

is just a daily duty

which I can’t

overcome –

alone.

These days my only consolation

is thought after thought

of You.

These days

my constant isolation

is warmed by constant thoughts

of my Lamb’s blood –

sweat.

Agony

Undaunted

Submitted by Mairead on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 20:57

 Picking myself up,

one more time

I'm trying,

to see through tears

once more, is my light dying?

I've surrendered

all that I know how,

can You just answer

and hold my heart?

It's been full and heavy

I want You

to renew it

into what will reflect Yours.

My littleness

is breaking

my humanity overtaking.

Will You set this right?

I'm asking for You to fight the fight.

When burdens are heavy

When pathways are dark

The Gifted:Part 1. chapter 4

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Sun, 10/30/2011 - 23:38

Okay, so I haven't had much time to work on my stories recently. Both of the chapters I am posting this week are pretty short as a result. Tell me what you think.  :)

Promise

Submitted by Mairead on Sat, 10/15/2011 - 20:07

We are weak and human and frail.

But He has been here and walked these sands

He has made everything with His hands.

He sees the pain and can give us healing

but what do we do with our needs and feelings?

We bring them to the world, dirty as it is,

we should bring it to Christ since we are His.

We ask it for help, and He cries.

We ask it for peace, and He closes His eyes.

We ask it for freedom, and He dies.

We ask it to build us, and He sighs.

It's far from over and not too late,
