How I Imagine Love

Submitted by Madeline on Thu, 10/11/2012 - 20:50

A hand slipped into the back pocket of my jeans
An unquenched, soft, requited yearning
Lips that dart from my nose to cheek
That’s how I imagine it’ll be

Late night walks taken without fear
Happiness because he’s near
The most satisfying joyful tears
Nights too long, cliffs none too sheer

A fearless fumble without blush
A chest as soft as a pillow plush
Hearts skipping with every single touch
A giggle as we whisper shush

The Bus Driver

It’s a thankless job.

The coffee pot usually wakes her every morning like clockwork—four-thirty a.m. Some days she’d like to sleep in until five but it’s a luxury that comes with a price. Because if she did get in that extra half-hour, she’d miss saying goodbye to her husband, and have to hurry over the paper and breakfast. So she would rather not.

Thieves: Chapter 12

Jovlin was beginning to think that they were lost when something finally moved across the sky. The sun was beginning to set, and she was relieved to see a possible destination drawing near. Her eye ached in the dim red light of the setting sun, and she could barely make out the creature in front of her. Or perhaps it was not a creature at all, but a floating castle. This seemed impossible, but there were doors in the side of it and a few windows scattered across whatever it was. Still, she had seen many strange things happen over the past day, and she was not going to rule anything out.

Thieves: Chapter 11

It was not the feeling of flying through the air or the thought of falling that terrified Kamber so much. It was not what lay ahead either, but what was far behind. Kamber was frozen in fear at the thought of confronting his family and his past, as he knew he would have to if he continued on his current course. Even more than that, he was frozen in place by the thought of telling everyone who his father really was.

Thieves: Chapter 10

Okay, so I've figured it out. Every time I promise to get something up quickly, something happens and it doesn't get on here for weeks. So, I'm really sorry that I haven't posted this until now, and I'm really sorry for how much I apologize. Also, I promise not to make promises in my posts again anytime soon. Okay, so that's a little exaggerated, but I at least will stop promising to get the next bit up soon and hopefully it will happen anyways. :) (See my logic?) DREAM ON READERS- I would have posted some chapters from Dream On this week, but I have hit a bit of writers block.

Thieves: Chapter 9

Jovlin was still looking out of the window when something zoomed past her so fast that she couldn’t really see what it was. At first she thought it must be a giant bird, because she was certain she had felt the touch of feathers on her face as a wing passed her, but it was much too big for a bird. Suddenly, the sky was full of brightly colored flashes, flying through the air as if chasing the wind. They swooped around, chasing each other with such speed that they could not clearly be seen. Each was a different color, each seemed a different size.

Unashamed

They laugh,
And taunt,
And mock.
Yet still we do not talk,
And simply sit in shame
As if we’re the ones in pain.

What we don’t understand
Is that we are a part of His plan
To retaliate with love,
Unashamed.

Dearest

I just thought I'd explain really quick that I have not been able to post on apricotpie for a while, due to a full schedule which included 4H. I have been writing some, but only poetry, and I will be leaving Tuesday to work at camp Barakel for two weeks, so I will basically be pretty innactive for a while. But, I will continue to write, and you can count on a chapter or two of each of my stories as soon as I get back. So, anyways... Here's a poem I wrote today...

Dearest…
